The only difference is that the million dollars question in the example that you've provided is purely based on illusion, whilst being able to get a RHD P1 is reality/fact/truth.
No - when it actually happens, only then it is 'reality'. Until then you can only speculate on the possibility. Just like there's a possibility I could sleep with the girl on the cover of the most recent Sports Illustrated swim suit issue, but until she says yes it ain't happening. I do keep asking her though... >8^) ER
They don't have to say 'no' to a question they are never (seriously) asked. Now someone else here asked an important question about who was going to buy all those 918's which has yet to be answered. Don't you even care...? >8^) ER
You think the X-1 owner is going to buy all those 918's. Interesting - I wouldn't have suspected him at all. >8^P ER
You know I wasn't referring to your question about the 918. And no, I don't care who's going to buy it, ask Patrick, he might have a better answer. All I want is to see a P1 in Australia.
Not sure about the reliability of the source, but according to Wikipedia Ferrari has the higher hit-rate: Ferrari: 852 Formula One races, 219 race victories, 25.7% McLaren: 722 Formula One races, 182 race victories, 25.2% Regards
This is your opinion but it is not supported by facts. Press, critics and public says exactly the contrary. You can check sales number and awards gained of the 458 versus those of the MP4. The Mp4-12c is undoubtedly a fantastic car. A huge achievement to be the first McLaren attempt In production road-going sport car (the F1 is not). Anyway Realzeus is just saying that McLaren promise the best handling machine ever the reality says a ten years ZR1 MY2012 can easily match the MP4 on track with conventional technology, a 52/48 weight distribution, a manual 5+1 gearbox and so on. That's why the speculation about P1 laptimes is, a today, frankly childish. Cheers Luque
Latest release of info from McLaren includes power figures that were previously "rumored": >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
no mention of the battery capacity.. So now we have McLaren and Porsche engine and el motor specs, and so far Ferrari seems to have them both pegged... Only thing left is to see the down force numbers.. As waiting for these cars to be tested against each other will take a few years... Also the McLaren Battery pack seems to be poorly packaged, it looks as if it will rise the centar of gravity..
+1 Being a Ferrari fan I still must admit: That wing looks really cool. And given the estimated track times I don't know it the batteries are poorly packed nor we are so much smarter to pack them.
It sits lower and closer to the front of the engine than it would appear in that exploded drawing. >8^) ER
Regarding the location of the battery pack, and looking at the available F70 engine and chassis pictures, I doubt the same solution could be adopted by Ferrari because of the length of the 12V and location of the electric motor. I wonder what the Ferrari solution is. Beneath the seats? Two packs on each side of the engine? Regards
By most accounts the 458 is equally quick if not quicker than the MP4 and certainly more exciting to drive even though it was launched 2 years earlier and McLaren had all the time in the world to match and surpass her!!! Also you should check your data! Ferrari actually has a higher winning percentage in Formula 1!!! Ferrari: F1 Races Competed 850, F1 Races Won 219. That works out at 0.26 Wins/Race! McLaren: F1 Races Competed 722, F1 Races Won 182. That works out at 0.25 Wins/Race! Well, the Italians win it again... Ciao!
Hahahahaha!!! That was brilliant!!! As for the Radicals et al. they are barely cars, more like F3s with license plates. Not to mention the Caparo T1 which is a detuned and tamed F1 car...
Bravo Mclaren. I'm a Ferrari fan through and through but I definitely dig the P1's looks. It may not age well like someone said but it ain't too bad either. I like the compact power train -shows there was plenty of space for a bigger displacement turbo V8 making 1000-hp sans all that E-power nonsense. Hope the F150 goes1-up and delivers a jaw dropping surprise akin to when the F40 came seemingly out of nowhere.
Brilliant packaging! The battery pack is exactly where you want it weight wise and because the petrol engine is much more compact the electric motor is in a great place as well.
