Geneva in March.... Cant see it happening before.. If they do before it will only be a single photo like the Enzo Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well from DM18's comments we know they are still showing the car to prospective customers today in Maranello. If this was the last day of those activities I could see them releasing a package of material to the press on Monday or Tuesday. Let's hope so - the wait is now getting tiresome. One interesting rumor I heard was that production of Ferrari's new hypercar will coincide with the car's release at Geneva. I am quite surprised to hear there is a chance it would be happening that quickly. Michael or the other prospective owners - does that jive with what you have heard? >8^) ER
All I know is Sammy Wasem was promising surprises this week and it's already Friday noon and no news. Not that I was hoping for much...
STAY TUNED!... This coming week could be surprising ... No promise there ! Interesting all F150 info gone from Ferrari website and no Ferrari Magazine yet...
True, no promises. The guy could be a moron... or actually could be not! The fact of F150 info gone might just be because it's an old story, not headlines right now. Sure the info is still up, only not linked from the homepage.
That's way ahead of what I would expect and have heard. However, the special 'area' where XX cars, Enzos, and F50s, etc. were/are produced is at a stand still right now and is being 're-tooled' for the new car, but there is also another reason why this special line has stopped making XX cars. The team that assembles the special cars have built more than one F150 now, but there are not enough to start the 'production run'. There aren't enough 'tools' to start production that soon. Granted the production car will be rolled out sooner than the Enzo was, but customer cars are going to be a ways after its debut. As far as the unveil (photos) goes, Monday is ahead of the date I was told, and as anyone knows things never run on time, much less ahead of schedule. I would be VERY surprised to see the car unveiled on Monday. I'll poke around and see if I can confirm Monday, but I can assure you if it's that soon, expect Ferrari to launch a dedicated site VERY soon. Ferrari are milking this release, as if no one has noticed and you can be sure there will a count down clock, social media buzz and teaser-teaser stuff etc.
IMHO the last photos from Max Sarotto from the California, 458 and F12 are not bad. any one knows where is his Studio...
I'm really curious to know more about the second version of the F150. Because Maserati aren't doing a version of this new supercar (like with the MC12 /Enzo) I'm guessing Ferrari will do 2 versions with Ferrari badges. I think the 2nd version will have optimal downforce, racing/sporty set up with a removable hard top, lighter, longer wheelbase, more power and bigger wing etc. They will built about 50 for road use (or less) and 25 F150 XX corsa for racing like with the MC12. This is what I'm guessing, maybe tool-fan can tell us if I'm close to what will happen.
If they did this then Ferrari would be directly admitting they are concerned about what other car makers do. Ferrari's brand is so powerful part of the marketing strategy is to ignore & pretend other cars aren't even there, its about them. That formula has pretty much worked. F1 racing isn't about stop speed, its more about acceleration, cornering and down force. The F70 is about improving upon the Enzo, not the P1, the 918 or Veyron. Top speed to Ferrari is totally pointless because 200 mph "they were the first to do it with the F40" is extreme enough for a road car & many F1 races they average a little over or a little under 200 mph, depending on the track. I read an article today about the F70 and for its price you're getting Bugatti performance in an ultra exclusive Ferrari without the waste of gas, emissions and bloated weight. Not to mention the money you spend in brakes and tires every 2 or 3k miles with the Veyron.
Well, Ferrari is clearly concerned with what the competition is doing, hence their obsession to win all group tests they take part in. Also note how they up the ante with every new model. 700 CV for the Aventador? 740 for the F12!!! That said, they are not that concerned with top speed (even though in the Enzo that was a big consideration), but the new car should still be good for more than 230 mph to differentiate itself from lesser Ferraris. And surely, acceleration and lap times is their main priority.
If top speed, acceleration to 62, 100,200mph is not important, nor is it the track time....they could just make sculptures and sound sistems.. Almost everybody will be satisfied with a gorgeus and good looking supercar. But ferrari needs to crush the competition.
The private previews will continue until March 4. That's what it says on the passes handed out to clients. Image Unavailable, Please Login
and the press conference of the Geneva Motor Show begins March 5. its mean that no information prior to this date will be the? (Sorry for my bad English)
I was with DM18 at preview. Not sure what we can reveal now but lets just say the car is heavily develop from their F1 activities. Chassis, aerodynamics, hy-kers. Much better power to weight ratio than the Veyron. Weight and length similar to the enzo but with more HP and added torque of Hy-kers system. Official launch will be at Geneva auto show.
I am sure you can reveal if it has any kind of innovative active aero rather than traditional spoilers.
I'm sure the car will have active aero elements. The Mclaren P1 has it and I think the new supercars will have it. But better wait to someone can ensure it us. (Sorry for my english, sometimes I don't know if I'm failing writting haha)
Isn't the 458 considered to technically have an active aero system? I believe such a system would be illegal in F1. No?
I think the 458's active aero is due to the black fins in the front fascia. They are flexible and can move at speed.
