They say 430, but it might as well be anything for all it looks like any Ferrari.

Honestly, why do kit/replica makers insist that any body mod must be a "replica of a Ferrari?" And why, in the tradition of politicians, must they lie over and over, apparently on the premise that, if you hear (or read) something enough times, you'll believe it? (Witness the obscene interior, with "Ferrari" script logos piled on well past all reason.)

Why not just say, "It's a 3000GT with a body kit, like it or don't," and leave it at that? Why the constant attempts at misrepresentation so ludicrous that it borders on satire?

I'm sure the body kit makers do this with some element of satire about it. It's the young men who buy them that take a couple of years to realise they're ludicrous... then we see the eBay and Craigslist adverts when they try to dump them for ridiculous prices.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I hadn't really thought about it that way, but probably so.

I was thinking that the body kit makers just made something that they thought might look cool, and then the buyers decided that they were "Ferrari replicas."

I have a good friend whose Toyota S2000 has a very nice, more exotic-looking body kit on it, which he purchased when he lived in Japan and is only available there. He believes his car may be the only one with that body kit in the U.S.

I don't object - actually, I like it - because (1) it's a very nice looking body kit, and (2) he didn't put Ferrari or Lamborghini badges, script, etc. all over it. He calls it what it is: A Toyota with an unusual body kit.

I can't believe that this has been going on for this long. I have seen SR Replicas ripping people off for years and years! Why in the world does anyone continue to send them money?! Just one google search will let you know to stay away from those idiots. I guess some people want to believe so badly that they put blinders on to the truth.

Just one more reason not to buy a kit.

Guys, if you want an inexpensive, go-fast car, there are Camaros, Mustangs, certain Nissans, etc. If you can't afford a Lambo or Ferrari, buy a fast car that you can afford. They're out there.

What kind of delusional individual sends cash to a no-credit-cards-accepted company, in a foreign country, that is in the business of producing fraudulent "replicas" (or so they say), and expects to get a Lambo re-creation the looks exactly like the real thing? Or for that matter, expects to get anything at all?

Remarkable how much time some folks have on their hands. If it is truly $75K invested plus labor, he could've restored an E type or something...

Not sure about the motor, but I wouldn't think it would be hard to morph the Fiat body into a 275GTS shape, they are somewhat close visually.
