I think you are right - the pic is a flipped version of a Rame Colorado RHD car that used to live in Australia, and now lives in Malaysia (repainted gold now).

One telling small detail that (in my mind) shows they are different cars is the placement of the Tornado stickers for the Vitaloni mirrors. On the Atlanta car the passenger side one is to the inside of the mirror whereas on the Australian car both are on the outside. I doubt anyone re-applies these stickers, if anything they remove them and throw them away. Also the pics seem from the same era judging from the background cars, and the Australian car has tinted windows and a rear wing, both lacking on the Atlanta car.

Anyhow, all this is moot because the pic is flipped so one is a RHD car and the other is LHD.

Here is an unflipped version of the photo (and no, I didn't simply reverse it!!). Also, a photo of a COuntach in Malaysia (I think) - is this the same car once it had arrived in Malaysia?

Does anyone have a pic of it after it was resprayed gold?

(Thanks - my Mission is to identify and get a picture of every RHD Countach....)

PS does anyone know its VIN?

    Thanks

I'm not sure those two are same car either - if for no other reason than that the Aussie one appears to have a black interior?

This engine belongs to a Countach S that was originally "rame colorado"...

the future buyer should respray it to its original color scheme.

For any inquiry, PM me, it for sale in Europe.

i am not sure about the flag mirrors...will look into it

i can find the bullet mirror that would be correct also for the S2 (and imo looks MUCH better) for cheap money

    Emilio,

Bullet mirrors are for S1 only. Some later S1s moved on to Flag mirrors.

Brian your car has had these mirrors since the early days. Or shall I say, the glory days.

@ Raymond, on my car they are ALL corta & cosso

I spoke to an engineer at stabilus and he basically thought I was from another planet.

He also went on to tell me that A) chances of rebuilding them is nearly impossible and B) the CC part I gave them has no history in his computer system.

What gives? I'm tired of not being able to get the parts I need for my car and when I do get parts for my car they are NEVER the right ones.

How can you guys that keep your cars in their original state make it look so easy.

    Come on share! lol

One car I've yet to see here is a white countach that had a red, and a green stripe, up the front, and if I remember correctly, over the top of the car. I thought that reflected nicely on an Italian sports car. The stripes were maybe 12-14" wide each.
I saw the car for sale many, many years ago in the Dupont.
Any chance someone has some pics?

Ferruccio's S2 has bullets on. not sure if it was like this since new but at least from some 25 years
but i had seen few others...i have to look in my archive to see if i saved pictures

p.s. not sayng it was the rule...i agree with you that most S2s have one or 2 flag mirrors

but if i have to guess, i would say mirrors are not series related on the S cars...tks for the image of the copper car with later style mirrors...it is a good example
you surprised me with that image!

Mine were corta and cosso and yes I was told the same as you for rebuilding my front hood strut.
Initially I tried to get replacements from Italy, but they kept sending the wrong one. it was hopeless. I still have a bunch I should sell.
then someone hinted me to have them made at LST, a Canadian company. Price is reasonable. The guy made mine to to spec of the old one I sent him. His name is Stephen Fenner and I beleive he may now have all the CT strut specs. His phone is 306 683 5000. His stuff worked right, looks the same as original minus the labels. I was very happy to buy them from him

Emilio, I think when you see an S2 with Bullets on, it is because the owner hated the Flag mirrors and wanted something more sleek. Remember, a lot of people did not like the ungainly & non-aerodynamic Flags.

My thinking is, Bullets on an S2 is a post-production application.

I was told by someone who should know that the reason they discontinued Bullets on the S1 cars and went Flags for the latter S1 cars onwards is that some European Transportation Authorities deemed the Bullets to be a race-car application that afforded too little visibility because of their all-too-narrow scope of rearward vision for normal traffic situations. The Flags were seen as an effective (if unattractive) solution.

But, you know car-guys, they always go for what looks good!

Thanks I'll give them a call sometime this week.

I can get the labels made exactly as the originals and screen print them to the strut.
