I agree with you sir. A button would be useful. Then again, perhaps Ferrari will also have a button... what's one more in a steering wheel full of them anyway? Hehe.

PS: I like your use of british terminology. "Petrol engine" et al. ;) Is it because your engineers are british perhaps?

March 5th is the opening date at Geneva when all the press conferences would typically occur.

I think this is what an Indian had to say about the F150

This is what he had to say about the F150:

    Quote:
I saw the car in the private preview too on the 29th... Just like to add that it was absolutely unreal... Also the new steering was 2cm smaller than the 458 with a new design. The air brake is in operation on breaking along with the active rear diffuser. I absolutely loved the rear... Got to mention that these timings spoken of are from test mules not on the actual car with all the clean flowing aero...so numbers are only going to be better.
I personally cannot wait for either of the cars.

I have noticed that many who have seen the car is actually in love with the rear.

I was about to say that.

Another member on rennteam who saw the car said the rear was epic. Can't wait.

Hey guys, I just have this doubt for a long time. I haven't seen an actual Enzo drag another supercar and I'm concerned why Ferrari aren't good at accelerations like the Lamborghini cause the Aventador can go from 0 to 60mph in 2.9 seconds, but the F150 is known to be as 3.0 seconds having such a lot of Horses and weight loss.

I like the rear a lot. I also like the F1 Rain light...

AWD gives the Aventador and other fast cars like the GTR and 911 Turbo the advantage in acceleration tests.

Only at the initial launch. After thar, 4WD is a hindrance as it adds weight and parasitic losses. The 458 for example is quicker than the Gallardo LP 570 above 60 mph.

True. Ferrari's are not designed to be drag racers. They're designed for lap times. Different.

Indeed. Even though the acceleration times of the 458 are not to be sniffed at, beating a lot of 4WD cars, especially going above 200 km/h. ;)

    fwiw ...

Zero-to-sixty is practically a worthless metric. Couple reasons : first, the metric is all too often dominated by zero-to-ten times, where launch control dominates (rather than power, or weight); second, there's been at least one (otherwise great) road car whose gearing for the street was positively ruined by the marketing constraint of avoiding a gear shift change in the first 60mph, thereby artificially "improving" the performance in this worthless metric ... and sacrificing performance everywhere else.

    my 2 cents

I completely agree. 5-60 (rolling start) is a much better metric in my opinion. It more closely resembles what is likely to occur on the street and is a better indicator of how much power a car is making. This is also why I don't look so much at a car's 1/4 mile time as I am interested in the trap speed.

    well said :)

Regarding 1/4 mile times, i also agree that trap speed is a much better measure (why blame/penalize the car if the driver has a bad reaction time at the tree, for example?).

I disagree, traction from a stand still and 4wd are important and that's why the 918 will be a big surprise performance wise.

Yes. It was the standard metric 50 years ago when cars were much slower. It is meaningless now. Car & Driver measures rolling 5-60 times which at least zero out the launch effect, but it is still meaningless in a world where times hover around 3 seconds.

5-60 is FAR from meaningless. Starting from 5 MPH gives you a good indication of how well an engine "pulls" from low RPM. Does it have instant throttle response or does it "bog down" when you floor the throttle? Is the engine "flat" below a certain RPM?

Many cars that can pull a 3 second 0-60 CANNOT pull a 3 second 5-60, especially cars that make most of their power higher up in the rev range. This is a test where lots of low RPM torque (think ZR1) is beneficial vs a high RPM screamer (think 458).

Its been several months that there are rumors and that we talk about it would be time that ferrari of the shown.

For the Geneva show I think that its going to be difficult, because it does y more information flowing.
