Just wondering for anyone who's an owner, what's the true gas milage you've been getting on your 458 Italia or 458 Spider?

The way I drive my real world mileage is around 12. Serious driving will drop that in half!

    Gas mileage?

We don't care about no skinkin' gas mileage! :)

No, seriously... it's terrible. Depending on how you drive in the city you can get as little as 8 and probably an average of 12. On the freeway, about 20.

Expensive. But, no worse than everything else with this car: Insurance, upkeep, parking, etc. If you can afford to buy one of these, you can afford what goes with it.

+1...as the owner of a modest boat, that cruises at about 22-25 gallons/hour, it puts everything perspective. Drove my 458 to the dock and back today...15 miles, call it 1.5 gallons. Three hours on the boat today (not all at cruising speed)...call it 50 gallons. Sadly, my 458 is how I save gas and do my part for the environment!

The EPA says 13 mpg city, 17 highway.

If you don't like that, the Bugatti Veyron is rated at 8 and 15.

I never thought about it but if you asked i would have got it wrong. My Lambo Galardo of the same 2010 year as my 458 has a milage calculator which goes 17.1 to 17.7 MPG. Iwould have assumed the 458 was about the same. Guess I was wrong.

I love the mayors post about "smilage" just a perfect expression. :)

A good friend of mine owns a single engine turboprop aircraft. It will cruise close to 250 mph at 23,000 ft and top out at a little less than 300 mph. On a nice high altitude cruise he enjoys 8 mpg fuel economy. It goes down from there. A complete fill of jet fuel will run about $1200.

So I do not dwell on my 458's fuel economy -- or lack of it. It is the smileage that counts.

Well the gas guzzler tax is imposed at purchase. That should send a message that gas mileage is not great.
