Can anyone here provide some info on the '84 308 that was listed on Craigslist? It was a high mileage car with about 72k miles gray with red interior. It was priced at around $24k. Did anyone go over to look at the car and maintenance of it? Thx.

I'm pretty sure I talked to the seller and as I recall the history was questionable and there was no real service record. I wasn't looking for a project so I didn't investigate further.

Does anyone have a picture of this car? My '83 is gray over red also. I would be interested in seeing the interior... I have yet to see one that's the same as mine... red seats, console and upper door panels, but black carpet and lower door panels. It's really just idle curiosity, but I wonder whether this one is the same as mine, or whether it has a red carpet.

    Not really important...

Spoke with the owner by phone a few weeks ago, very "yes" or "no" answers and not forthcoming with any real information.Called twice that week and ask if he would forward additional pictures, no such luck. He did say that he has owned the car for two years and that the previous owner had pulled the engine to do a belt service. I ask him if it may have been pulled because of a broken belt mishap he had nothing to say. Just a bad feeling all around.

I went and looked at it. In my opinion it's a project I wasn't willing to take on. That major service he is talking about was around ten years ago. He says it "runs great" but I didn't even bother asking him to start it. He is some sort of car dealer. Has ads on Craigs that say "I buy cars not running for cash".

I am not of the camp that screams "run away" at the mention of any problems. This car is what it is. But it needs to be priced that way and he won't budge.
