Does that red F1 still exist?
That's actually the Clinic Model - the non-running styling model that McLaren used to unveil the F1 to the world in Monaco in 1992. It did not use the F1s carbon chassis, only had a mockup of the engine and no other mechanical bits. There's a bit of humor, of course, in trying to put fuel in that one. The Clinic Model last appeared in the Beaulieu National Motor Museum back in the late 1990s (at the time painted yellow) after which it was reported to have been scrapped. >8^) ER
Here is a larger image of the gas station shot. It is scanned from the 1993-94 Autocourse and I have attached a cover image and photo of the full two page ad. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The McLaren F1 GT prototype will be displayed publicly for the first time since 1997 in Brussels, Belgium as part of the 'Dream Cars for Wishes' display at the 91st European Motor Show Brussels from 18th until 20th January. This is an EXTREMELY unique opportunity to see the rarest of all the McLaren F1 variants - the F1 GT - of which only three were built. Sometimes it is a shame that money can buy you anything. For most with money, they worked to get it and deserve whatever they can get with it. But in some cases, there is just something wrong about it. For some reason, I get the idea that the Sultan didn't have to work too hard for his money. Seeing someone like that owning cars like these is much less impressive when they use their countries economic intake as their own piggy bank.
Saw this on display yesterday at the Rolex 24 in Daytona. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool - good to know it is there. That's is GTR #17R which is part of the BMW Motorsports collection here in North America. This car was raced twice in 1996 by Team Bigazzi, once at Silverstone and again at the 24 Hrs of Le Mans, finishing 4th and 8th respectively. >8^) ER

This is pretty amazing to see - what is what is believed to be F1 #060 in Japan. This car falls into the category of 'new and never registered' rumored to have just delivery miles on the odometer. It has been hidden away in Japan since new and the last time it was seen it still had the original delivery plastic protecting the surfaces of the interior. There's a black mark you might notice on the rear bumper - that would be Gordon Murray's signature. Kind of a strange place to put it, but certainly a unique touch on this car. It has surfaced on ArtSports website today, but is not yet a part of their 'Stocklist'. Still I have to expect they will be attempting to sell the car - not sure what price they are considering, but I expect it will be very steep! A[gX|[cRNV >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
Man....just not feeling the yellow color. Curiously, there was a F1 (Yellow Corn?) in yellow that ran in JGTC. Guess the Japanese like yellow F1s!
Erik, I believe somewhere in the thread, someone posted that the average price to acquire a F1 was around $5 million. Given this is not only a F1, but one never used (& assuming, still in perfect condition), what do you reckon the price would be for this? $10 million, minimum? Perhaps, the most expensive price ever paid for a "standard" F1 (I imagine the LM or even the stupid rare GT values are well into the 8 figure marks)?

Just out of curiosity, did you own 068 or did I miss something? Either way, thank you for these wonderful photos!
