As a long time Ferrari fan, I really hope the F150 betters the P1. I like the P1. Unlike some of the Ferraristas here, I believe the Mac is an incredible design executed perfectly. I think it is a formidable competitor to the Ferrari. I cannot deny that it is another packaging masterpiece like the F1. To pack Veyron beating mechanicals inside that compact body is an achievement. I also like the fact that Mclaren targetted track performance as top priority and stayed true to that objective. That huge wing will certainly give it an advantage and as a bonus it looks fantastic deployed or retracted.

Exhaust sound, emotion, driving feel, drag times are all important elements for super cars but a car that is fastest on a track like Nurburgring gets the biggest respect from me. Why? Same reason why many car manufacturers test there - it's a great barometer for how a sports car will ultimately perform on the road. If the F150 is slower by a click to 200 or a few secs at the Nurb but looks and sounds better, I'd prefer it over the P1. But if it's 10 seconds slower at the Nurb, I'd prefer the P1 as there will be no question in my mind then that Mclaren executed the more effective concept.

It's a sad day if Mclaren ceases to exist as car maker. I like their spunk and single minded determination to beat Ferrari.

Having said that, here's to the F150 surprising and delivering a better overall package next Tuesday.

whatever the car numbers will be, what is displayed in the picture you posted is the F150, just covered with 20 kg of carbon fiber to conceal the real car body shape: so it is the car and not a mule. Trust me.

    ciao

Lmao wrong.. the final body panels are not even fitted let alone covered up
No real diffuser no active areo's etc etc it a mule holds alot of parts but far from the final car and in that current form not able to produce the final numbers... this mule if run against the final car will be 2 - 5 sec a lap slower

Simon, listen: 0-200 time of this prototype is the same of final car. That's not a mule, it's a prototype and the difference are just some body panels.

A mule is a car fitted with some pieces of another car, this shown is an F150 lacking of some body pieces but has everything that sits below.

I'm not talking about a lap time, i'm just talking about the 0-200 km/h time.

Mc Laren has a bigger thrust due to twin turbo engine, that usually is stronger than a NA engine in a dragrace, so it's not a big surprise if P1 0-200 time will be a bit (not much, of course) better than F150 time. Ok?

Of course you can have your own opinion.

    ciao

I know I would be livid if I paid $300K for a car and the window switch broke off in my hand. But that could just have been an anomaly.

    LOL ... what a blithering idiot !!

The 458 has "cat whiskers" ... boooo!
The MP4-12C has buttons that light-up ... yeahhh!

The MP4-12C "starts, stops and makes noise" ... and it's just SO awesome, you can drive with those cool doors UP !!!!

Hard to imagine a better endorsement for the 458, than a complete moron singing nonsense-praises for the McLaren :D

Isn't this that clown that posts videos of himself crashing Ferrari's? As in repeatedly smashing the front of a 360 into a brick wall?

What are his points? Ferrari make ****ty cars and the four fifty eight or F-four fifty or whatever it's called is the least ****ty? The car has catfish whiskers? Oh wait, look at him driving the McLaren with the doors open..I'm sold..McLaren truly is the better of the two. Thank god we have Robbie Ferretti to show us everyone wrong they are

    Idiot.

Ok. That 'review' was like listening to some Jersey Shore reject.
Thank God the McLaren 'stops' or else there could be a problem....

hahaha i wasn't talking about the silly stuff obviously, but the build quality.
Are the McLaren's a higher quality product in terms of materials and reliability?

As an owner of both... I think it is a wash. Certain aspects better or not as good relative to each other.

Having been in both a number of times, its certainly faster - a customer (not press) 12C clocked a 6.7 60-130 times. It should be noted this is a car with the latest 616bhp update (v10 software).

'faster' as in scientifically measured or measured by the seat of your pants? sensation of power curves can be deceptive. and your persistence 'customer vs press ('highly optimised..ie 'ringers' implying Ferrari = shady ...i think that has been put to rest...real old, broken record.

The new Lamborghini looks like the Gemballa Mig-U1. That's awful IMO.

I think the rear is pretty cool, WOW, and very Lambo.

It's not working for me - plus what is the point of getting excited about a car they will make three of? And why only three - where is the significance in that? Maybe that was the number of people with bad taste they could find to give them the money? :D

They should be making 50 since it is their 50th anniversary. Not sure why they have even bothered except to add some relevance to the brand in the face of all these other reveals at Geneva. Does this help sell an Aventador or just make the design of that car appear a bit too tame?

Anyway, not a fan of the Veneno here. Hope the three who bought them love it.
