I find this a bit insulting to my intelligence.

And taking into account that half of this thread is Ferrari bashing, I think that we should not worry about having a good balance here.

This is unrelated to what I was saying. Good for them if those cars sell well. And good for others if they like them. But I was saying that I don´t like this "Poison" aesthetically, and that I think that the design of the latest Lamborghinis is a bit reiterative.

On the other hand, that something sells well doesn´t necessarilly mean that it´s an interesting design.

Not a chanse! MS is a Mercedes ambassador now.
Monza has already been used by Ferrari for the 430 when the car was launched, even though it was then dropped silently. That said, Chevrolet has no connection with Monza, unlike Ferrari that has the historic track as its home race.

Another change from the orange show car is the ride height. Looks more like what you'd expect for a road car designed to work on real roads. Changes the appearance for the worse though....

I think the ride height can be lowered if needed, much like the numbers of the production run ;)

I think it's pretty impressive that they sold 3 at 4.5mm USD. (Assuming reports in press are true)

With more angles I say... I can't stop looking at it, I can't dislike it. It's childish, stupid, senseless, overdone... It's an autentic Lambo, well done Sant'Agata.

True Jim.... I have to admit that even though its not my cup of tea it is cool to see Lambo designing crazy things. The Murci and Gallardo were way too conservative IMHO.

This is where I completely and totally disagree. Just being outlandish doesn't make good design. And, it certainly doesn't indicate creativity. In fact, it's a lack of creativity because Lambo is stuck in a 40 year old mold.

IMO, Lambo last it's way after it stopped making the Countach. The 350/400, the Miura, and the Countach advanced auto design, including their SUV which was 20 years or more ahead of it's time.

Everything else has been some knock off or variation of the Countach. Just adding more fins and creases is not good design -- or even interesting anymore.

The last really good Lamb design was the LP400. After that.... :(

There were a number of names proposed internally at Ferrari, one of which was the name of the car, until very recently. It was scrapped in the last couple of months. In the end Luca chose the name. I don't know anyone that has been given the official name yet. This is one detail they have kept a very tight lid on. Personally I think something simple, concise, and powerful is in order. By the way, Ferrari have named two cars after drivers so it wouldn't be the first time. However, I don't think that will be it.

Thanks for reminding me that Nuvolari did drive for Auto Union for a couple of years before the war (fast forward and Auto Union morphs into Audi). But he drove his greatest races for Enzo's Scuderia Ferrari team in the 30s which were actually Alfas, then later on for the actual Ferraris. And it is well documented that whenever anyone asked the old man who was the greatest driver, he always said "Nuvolari." There is a wonderful passage in Richard Williams' biography of Enzo that recounts his first ride with Nuvolari. He kept on waiting for the master to brake for the corners but found that Nuvolari waited to the impossible last second before braking, then immediately floored the accelerator to put the car into a four wheel drift. Evidently Nuvolari invented trail braking 50 years it was rediscovered by Mark Donahue.

It is very hard if not impossible to come up with a name that has not been used before by someone. Anyway we will find out soon.

Shark Fins really help. They give you a lot of lateral grip and make the wing work a lot better by accelerating air between the fin and the wing end plate. At first I didn't like them now I do.

    Let It Bleed!

(note how KERS brakes rear wheels and rear rotors no longer glow red)

Simple "rudder" concept. What works in the air and sea.... can work on the road-)
