Before delving into a repair/rebuild, just want to confirm that this is a seat pot issue.

Had normal top operation, seats moved correctly, etc until last summer where one day the DRIVER'S seat failed to automatically move when the top was being operated (down or up). The passenger seat works fine both manually and automatically, the top works fine but will crash into the driver's seat if it is not moved out of the way in preparation, and the driver's seat works manually using the seat switch when the top is in either the full up or full down position (not in between).

I have read that some folks lose their seat operation altogether. That didn't happen here.

If (when) I wind up doing the repair, I'll be sure to post my experiences and pics

    Thanks!

This was the same symptom I had. After I rebuilt the driver seat pot, all was fine.

Thanks. It seems, then, that I have a date with my girl on Thursday.
Did you disconnect the battery before doing the repair?

Yes, with the battery disconnect switch up front.

    Nice to see another approach.

I think the white part is made out of high-density polyethylene (same stuff milk jugs are made out of), which is one of the few things that epoxy is reluctant to stick to. Three years and 5,500 miles later, the contact cement is still holding strong for me, so it looks like there are at least two good solutions to this problem. Well done!

    Hi all.

Does anybody here know if Ferrari will ever reorder or remanufacture seat potentiometer for the F355 Spider?

I also own 2 older Maseratis (1993 + 1994) so I am quite impressed that Ferrari is able to supply nearly all parts for the 355.

Only the seat potentiometer turned out to be a problem :(.

It could be placed on a backorder list but I do not know if it will ever be available.

I know that it can be repaired but also I want to stock a new one with the correct plug and also I do not want the Jaguar part that is quite similar.

I think here a several experts having a long F355 "spare parts history" so ask for their rating concerning re-appearance of nla parts.

    Thank you.
    Regards, Thomas
