    No.

It comes down to enthusiasts who have recorded same over time. There are a couple of gentleman in the UK who post in the Countach thread who have tracked the RHD cars.

There's 5-6 of RHDs in Malaysia. I know of two red QVs, a silver 5000S, a gold 5000 & a blue anniversary. Oh, one more white probably QV as well & probably some more in the royal garages.

Remember that fora time all RHD cars for the WORLD were sold through the UK dealership. The rough calculation was 10% of total production came to the UK.
There were 14 88.5, approx 65 Qv's and about the same in anniversary's. The total left in the uk is much lower as so many have gone east to Australia and Malaysia.

I spoke to a few well informed sources here and they reckoned were about 220 RHD CT's of all types made. During the late 80's the UK was in superheated mode for cars and lots of RHD and LHD came here.

All the old UK records for all cars sold here or imported here are held by one guy who wont release them or answer general questions!

    Hope this helps!

I have put a lot of work into finding out how many RHD Countachs there are, but this is very difficult to establish.

In the UK in the 1970s there were multiple importers and private imports and all sorts. Also, there seem to be odds and ends of RHD cars that were sent all over the world by the factory. Certainly, one dealer in Australia supplied QVs over there, the first three QVs into Australia being a red, a black and a white.

The cars change colour, change country a lot and in the UK have lots of different regitration numbers, which makes them hard to track down. If anyone has any photos or info on RHD Countachs, any help much appreciated!!!

RHD cars have eneded up as far afield as UK, Australia, Malaysia (sounds like up to about 9 cars), Trinidad (at least 3 at one point!), the Middle East, South Africa and Japan.

Here are the results I have found so far:

LP400 - at least 18 RHD cars worldwide (I suspect this is reasonably accurate)

LP400S - at least 8 RHD cars worldwide

LP500S/5000S - at least 36 RHD cars worldwide

QV - less than expected - at least 38 RHD cars, but about 10 more yet to track down

QV88 skirted with strakes - 16 cars came into the UK, of which 2 went to Japan as RHD. There are about 4 more 88 RHD cars yet to track down.

Anniversary - 67 RHD cars apparently, but a few more went direct to Australia and some to South Africa (including a second RHD yellow car) - yet to find this out.

...........but then this is well short of the 220 RHD cars quoted below, so it is a mystery which I am continuing to work on solving!

If anyone can help, it'd be great: RHD cars: photos, registration numbers, VIN numbers, stories etc!!

    Anyone else got any comments?

...you mean 12970 (not 12870), which was recently said on the Countach Anniversary thread. L345DPB is also met purple, but a different car - there were three met purple RHD cars.

Er...yes...I think. The Malaysian car was G reg, then to Malaysia. The other two, one started as a G reg, which is the correct reg for the year of the car, then became an L. The second one was an L all along. It's very weird, and I only figured this out from reading the chassis numbers from each car when I saw them separately. But it is so easy to get this lot mixed up and if someone wants to tell me I'm wrong, I wouldn't be surprised!

This would depend on DVLA. Rulings on reg as to my knowledge you can not make a car appear newer than it actually is? You can if the car is first registered.

The L500 UFO could be L345 DPB this would make sense and is in fact the five star car. Unless they registered the car on its correct year of G Reg, however my understanding was they could not drive them on the road due to age an used to go up and down their drive.

My view five star car L500 UFO now in Scotland
G997VJD, is still with the ex owner of my present car.. Which is reg ** ***

Leaving L345 DPB which is either tucked away in the UK or is maylasia car.

Which if you know the chassis numbers to
L500 UFO and either G997 VJD then that should tell you the Malayasia car. Which is 12970

    Interesting all the same

the candy apple blue five star car isnt in Scotland any longer.

My car HXI 5944 is RHD 12923 Sold by importer to Fred Fraser the Northern Irerland House builder and kept in NI for years. Still has original reg plate

Paul Clemence now back living in New Zealand should have records of most of the RHD cars as he was a prolific collector of VIN numbers etc. He is on here but his mailbox is full! Dont have a personal email for him

    Hope this helps

Harry Metcalf of EVO magazine is also on here. He told me that there are only about 13 QV's left in the UK. He got someone to carry out some research for him on that. He may post nad help??

    Hi Paul,

There a lot off people on here that have serious records on vins and what cars are where, we don't all like to give out all the info we have after spending on research to give it out all because Someone wants to know this car or that.

It's far nicer to here the stories that surround these wonderful cars. Lamborghini themselves have tried to research an have as many vins plus location of cars by doing their registry some time ago..

I am not adverse to assisting with info but not overly keen on giving vins out I have in my possession.

Nice to hear the history on your car.. Not sure who did the research on the QV's , unless there have been several sold an taken out the country

Top of my head without looking I can think off

    1 yellow
    4 white
    5 red
    2 blue
    4 black

I dont know who Harry used to do his research. I know there was a red one with cream interior used to be in Norwich now painted black and in Melbourne. I drove and tested the car before i bought my own.
I have photos of my car with the original owner in the NI press and had spoken to him about the car before he died.
I will ask Harry who did the research for him.
There are only two others left in Scotland Uk. Carlo of topgear cars has a pearl white late QV and James has a black anni

I can try and get VIn numbers if people want them?

Yes definitely VINs would be of interest. Unfortunately, it is the only way of idenifying the individual cars. Happy to fill any gaps that I can.

By the way, which black 5000S did 123FAB used to be on?

9 OCT was on it before that, there is a pic in the countach thread with a long row of beer bottles on her wing... She was a fantastic car, some real good times had with her.

I understood 2 with white , 2 with mint, but i have never seen that car the 5th a colour change from red when pearl became the rage.

The pearl white/ mint that sold a while ago that I mentioned to a prince was also distinctive in that all rear badges were gold plated.
