Funny. I have always thought of Lamborghini as the drunken frat boy version of Ferrari.
Louder, more obnoxious, crazy party wardrobe, etc....

But many people dig that so to each his/her own.

I don't happen to care for their new 'super' car. If there were 400 available instead of just 3 I suspect it would be seen in a different light. The fact that the company forced its rarity with just 3 cars to be sold smacks of a gimmick of some kind. And since it is essentially a gussied up Aventador makes it all a bit worse.

To think it would win 'best of show' is funny to consider. But if it happens it won't be just the F70/F150 it would beat. A Lamborghini 'best of show' award at Geneva this year means a defeat for not only Ferrari but McLaren, Koenigsegg, Porsche and many others who have put their very best foot forward to present the finest vehicles their respective companies could make.

Yes, they will be speechless when they look at the front end. :)

No doubt it will be quick. But, a lot of cars are quick. Does that make you really want one?

Exactly why I compared it to fanboyism over console videogames. Its an irrational mode of thought. Its different from "I prefer x over y" its saying "x is so much better than y because I said so". thats the method of fanboyism that some people have that I brand as childish, because it is. Its fine to choose one over another but to say that one company is just making some half assed product because they want more attention is silly in light of the circumstances here. This is an autoshow. some would say THE autoshow to show off at. All manufacturers want attention. Rolls wants people to see the Wraith. Bentley has their new showcar. Spyker does. Ferrari does. Lambo does. Koenigsegg if anyone should be accused of rehashing since they have a gussied up Agera on display. But they are ALL showing off what they can do. that is the entire point of the show. Thats why Ferrari itself has all these teasers of the F150. Its saying " look at me!" just as much as the others are.

Why not reveal it to the public? the show is only a day away.
Like I said, a bunch of companies revealed their wares.

hey now, lets not forget that to many folks engineering=art , and that 'art' is subject to cultural lensing and saturation = no hard and fast set and subset of guidelines that constitutes 'art'

a modded Nissan GTR easily makes 850 horsepower and will run 0-62 in 2.1 seconds. Making power and impressive numbers is easy nowadays. Its how the car makes you feel while driving it

In other words, they'll go out of business if they ever tried to really create anything special on their own.

    Remember the founder's own words.

"I am the first Japanese in Italian history: I never invented anything, but I always copied the best. To make my motor I asked, which is the best? And the response was, the 12-cylinder of Ferrari."

    ...for other engineers.

The trick is balance between the two to make something really special. I look at at Duesenberg model J and just marvel at the engineering of the time and also the design the individual coach makers created for it.

That's where the real magic occurs.

And how is Ferrari different? they have produced the same small line of cars for years. The California is the only really new line and its just a smaller version of the other front engined ones. the biggest change was from the Testarossa to a front engine layout. Otherwise, Ferrari have done the same thing, sticking close to specific shapes BECAUSE IT WORKS.

LOL!!!!! The Testarossa looks nothing like the 550, the 550 looks nothing like the 599.

The 355 looks nothing like the 360 and the 360/430 look nothing like the 458.

The F40 and F50 look nothing like the Enzo.

Problem with Lamborghini is that they never learned how to bend sheet metal with a radius :) ergo they can only cut it up, and fit the pieces together :D

Im not talking about car evolutions here. Ferrari has stuck to the same formula that has worked for it. why do you think theres no 4 door model or an SUV? Ferrari could make competent versions of these vehicle types. Porsche did it and has found wild success. Its not a bad idea.

Ill tell you one thing I do like about current supercar design trends. they truly look like Lemans LMP cars for the road. That kind of look has always excited me.

Basically you just like crazy, attention grabbing design and don't really care about performance? Fair enough.
German design, German technology, German parts, assembled in Italy.

    Great tribute to the homeland.

Wait, so you happen to know who designed this car?

You also know the tech in it?

Where do you see german parts? Because the headlights are designed like an audi lmp car?

    Right....

I can agree with that. Not a bad place to start for inspiration.

Inspiration is one thing though, execution is another. ;)
