FERRARI 288 GTO

The GTO is moving up. I remember a few years ago they moved from the $600k range to $1m.

I think I might buy the DeLorean from Back to the Future and travel to 1984 and purchase a GTO for $84,000.

The Aston Martin Cygnet in the background looks absolutely hilarious.

The 288 looks amazing, as always.

 

I didn't even notice the Aston!

 

I saw a Dyno-Rod orange Cygnet just off the A30 on the Egham bypass this afternoon after heading to Maranello's but finding it under renovation- I had to go back round the roundabout to double check - it was hideous!!!

My initial reaction to your reply, though, was What Aston?. Clearly I was blinded by the beauty of the red thing in the foreground.

 

Also because the Aston in question is really a Toyota

 

With the introduction of "LaFerrari" today, I think it is safe to say that the 288 GTO remains the first, the rarest, and the most beautiful of the Ferrari super cars.

Ferrari says it will build 499 LaFerraris, 100 more units than the Enzo. And, though LaFerrari is certainly high tech, its looks are not classically beautiful like the 288 GTO (IMHO).

Lastly, as a name, "LaFerrari" cannot even compare to "GTO". The 288 GTO was officially named simply "GTO" And, it will probably be the only Ferrari to carry that pure and powerful title. In contrast, "LaFerrari" conjures horrifying images of the infamous Renault "LeCar" !

It would be nice to keep this thread about the 288 gto only. No need to saturate every thread with the la Ferrari. There are already half a dozen threads about it that are on going.
