Is the LF too far behind it? They are both gaping and awkward shapes with no flow, no simplicity, and no immediate sense of timeless beauty. It's a shame. I really wanted to like that car.
1. NO. Absoluely NOT! 2. NO and the Enzo wasn't much of a looker. 3. MAYBE!! Lets get some real world data 1st. 4. Absolutely!!! Probably sold out already. 5. Is the Name dumb: 100% Stupid.
I could not agree more, its just hideous it has no redeeming qualities WOW the more I see it the more I dislike everything about it.
Amazing responses. Do you really think most would agree with you? If this car is not the best looking in their current line up, what is? This car is uglier than the Enzo? Really? I suppose if you think this was better looking: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking at it in more detail.... does anyone have a hig-res zoomed in shot of that front wing? Is it free hanging and not connected to the car at the bottom? Looks like something that would rip off easily?
The car is gorgeous. It's how a modern Ferrari *should* look. Bravo! Not too sure about the name though. Is it just me?... or does anyone else see the influence from Glickenhaus' P 4/5 from the A pillar to the rear?
That is a beautiful Ferrari LaFerraril. Oh, wait, that is a 458. Sorry. Anybody could have screwed up that one.
These limited production beasts should be excempt from all green regulations and for the most part they are. It's just the urge of the marketing people to tell to the world that their products are not killing baby seals. Stupid world really...
1. The car looks beautiful. Well done. Nose is a little funky but I think it all works. 2. Does anyone else think it looks a lot like the McLaren F1 from the side view?
I noticed that. It's part of the larger CF undertray. Actually, that was a rather clever design technique to create the illusion of it floating.
Still baffled at how people see the Veneno and the LaFerrari and put the two together in the same (overdone) category! There doesn't seem to be a wasted line on the LaFerrari! Everything looks purposeful and in step. Nothing jutting out for the sake of 'looking cool'. The wheels are understated classic 5 spoke design. The wheel arches form around the tires comfortably as opposed to the Veneno arches which seem to be going in several directions at once! The Veneno is ALL ducts and slats and fins and edges and scoops for the sake of having them it appears. I would be curious to compare drag coefficient numbers between the two. The Veneno looks like what would happen if the LaFerrari became afflicted with elephantitus!
Fully agree when we are talking laptimes. IMHO Porsche isn't shooting for those, and I'd not be surprised if it was considerably slower then both the LaFerrari and the P1. Still it is, from an engineering point of view, maybe the most challenging to fit an electric system of that size (in terms of power, not volumetric) in a supercar and still get close to the purely performance oriented competitors. How close, that's the question I'm really excited about.
I think this is possibly the most beautiful car on the road now. Ferrari has hit a homerun. It evokes the older 8 cyl cars. I think the roofline, spade-like front bumber and mirrors remind me of the Challenge Stradale/360 -- legendary designs. I have two questions: 1) In F1, KERS is activated by the driver when needed. Will this car also have a "KERS button" that enables the driver to get that extra kick when needed? Or will it be more like the Porsche solution that activates it via a computer? 2) Braking: from the video it appears the car uses wings and aerodynamic aids to stall lift in order to slow it down. This is similar to an aircraft. Is it true that they are using airflow spoliers? An incredible design...
That'll be the last thing on my mind when buying a supercar. How green it is. Personally I'd rip the batteries out and save some weight. that'll also do the environmrnt some good.
Ok.. Ok... I JUST saw the other thread basically saying the same thing. My iPad is taking a long time to load each page, so I came to this thread first. Jim - you've got to be flattered. As they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery!
