How often does your "Slow Down 1/4 speed" go on? Mine goes on when going slow, sometimes after highway driving, there seems to be no main reason.

    Any suggestions too?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Never.

    Why?

I removed the stupid cat ecus & thermocouples, capped the holes, and removed the bulbs. :D

    Hey Dave...
    I have a 95, so I don't have to worry about that. ;)

    Steve-
The search function at top right of this section will return a great deal of information on diagnosing the issue. You're fortunate you have a 348, as diagnosis is usually easy. It's probably not serious, but warrants attention. It's usually related to the cats and their ecu's.

    On a serious tip,

    It's one of four things:

    1) bad cat ecu
    2) bad thermocouple
    3) bad/corroded connection
    4) genuine overly rich fuel condition

    How to check?
Swap the cat ecu's from side to side and see if the SDL jumps to the 5/8 bank.

Mine is a 95 also. Because I am catless, I don't have to worry about the light coming on but it was annoying so I swapped the cat ecus and the light then moved other to the 5-8 so I knew that was the problem and changed it.

Since then, no more slowdown light.
