Have my Scuderia (red/black) with 12,400 miles and EVERY available option on it up for sale.

The car has all its services, is flawless and has never been in an accident or smoked in. I am the third owner.

Best the dealer has come up with is $155,000. They are now falling below the Stradale.

Guess I will just have to sell and take a bath, then get out of these things forever.

    :(

It's a used car. Did you really expect to come out ahead?

No just thought a 30,000 dollar loss in 4 months is a bit much, especially after a 100,000 dollar loss in 1 year on a 430 Spider.

I can fix this problem though ....

There is one out by me (High Marques in Morristown, NJ) - asking price is $190K- car has not 9,000, not 900, but 90 miles on it. Essentially new. $155K probably sounds right given the dealer has to make a profit, and the asking prices aren't always the selling price for what are (very very very nice) used cars. If you think you took a bath, what about the guy that bought the Scud and didn't drive it for 4 years...90 miles is delivery miles!

I agree, what a beating. At this point, I don't think it worth it. Don't get me wrong I love driivng these cars, but this is ridiculous. I can spend the money on airplanes and have a lot more fun for less money. And thats saying something.

I know, I have those too.

Wish I never would have bought this thing. :(

I was looking through your past posts to see if I wanted to make you an offer....and you are looking at buying EVERYTHING. Just in the past couple of weeks, Versace Murci, 458, Ford GT, Dino....and you've only had the Scud a few months.

I can say you have nice taste....and a deep pocket.

So what is the nature of the $155k offer? The Dino trade?

Yes, Scud prices are trending down...no secret there. Depreciation will pick up as we get close to 458 Scud release.

Buying and selling cars for most of us is a money loosing affair. The scud is a wild car and if you don't need the next great thing there is no reason to get out if it. At this time I am still satisfied with my car and like most people it can be hard to see our possessions loose value. I think what you are seeing is people wanting to move into something else and this is the wrong time of the year to sell.

The problem with "every" option cars is a lot of times, you don't get back the price of the options from the next buyer. They don't care nearly as much as they do color, mileage, history and PRICE.

What's interesting is that 16 M prices are still pretty high. There's like a 80 to 100 grand difference between them now and they are the same car with the roof removed.

No actually the Dino trade resulted in a 148K offer - and full 289 retail for theirs!

The BEST I have been able to do is 155K and thats by my favorite Ferrari dealer who is really trying to help out the best he can. I don't believe anyone is trying to cheat me, I just found out what the market REALLY is. Guess I was fooling myself.

Yes I have been all over the place with my purchase options - a fool has no boundaries ;)

At this point, I am either going to sell and get out, or go with a low optioned new 458 at MSRP and hope I can bail later this year for a Spider and avoid another price hit. That or just keep the thing forever, never sell and save my wife the casket cost (they can bury me in it LOL)

One reason I went with a CS as opposed to a 430 (non-scud) was the special nature of the CS. I feel like I don't always need the latest and greatest. With a "standard" 430, I would have felt that way (like I did with the Gallardo I had before the CS). The fact that it holds it's value helps too.

As mentioned, it's a depreciating asset so it will drop. The dealer's number seems about right for your relatively 'high' mile (>10k mile) scud.

Assuming it's an 08 w us carbon, market value is 170. Dealers typically offer 10% less than market value to cover profit, prep, advertising, interest etc.

Yes the scud market is softening a bit with a plethora of lower priced scuds with >10k miles. However don't let that fool you into thinking they're falling out of the sky. Those are 'high mile' scuds. For example the 30k mile one going for 150. And several 10k mile ones asking high 160's, low 170's. Those are very close to the f430gt model. Low mile scuds <7000 miles still command 175-185k on the open market.

I think 166k is more than fair. Why not list the car for sale
as a firm price and see what happens?

Going to the dealer is not going to get you top dollar, they have to make there money too...

Dont sell your scud for 155 unless you NEED to, its just too low of a price

Not knowing anything else, the formula has you at 175 for your 09 so 166 is more than fair. You shouldn't have much of a problem getting close to that. The problem is you're competing against 08's with similar specs and miles with asking prices of about $10k less for essentially the same car. If I were a buyer, i would just take the 08 and save the 10k. it's going to be tough to compete against the current inventory. If those cars weren't out there, your car would be a great deal at 166 and highway robery at 155.

Just put it on the market and see what happens.

Agreed! $166 is a very fair price, and you really should be able to get that. Especially in the next few weeks to a month with Spring right around the corner.

Sounds like a beautiful scud and its frustrating how some buyers and owners are so focused on little-used used cars..12k sounds perfect for a 4 year old car....

The scud price model says it should sell for around 178k (It's just the standard 200k for a red, 09, w stripe price less 22k for the mileage). So, the 155k wholesale offer you got makes sense (that is ~13% below expected sale price).

You should be able to sell it yourself for north of 170k...sadly it seems the scud market is a bit soft right now for whatever reasons (we have seen a couple of other scud sale "problems" and settling for low offers lately).

    GLWS!

Sounds like you haven't got "money issues", so just post if for sale privately if you want more for it. Anyone that knows these cars, KNOWS it is clearly the best car out there for the price range it sits in.

2 months ago, this site went through a Scud frenzy! Many were looking and snatching them up rather frequently. There's no reason to give these cars away unless it's a fire sale, and you just need "out" of the car.

    Best of luck regardless!
