I bought the India ones from bay-e and I am very happy... the quality is good... good laquer... very accurate and I just put 3m clear film over it so they won't fade with time. For the price they can't be beat... I wear them proudly in my 355... they are metal and look very original... 300 times better than the faded cheap-o vinyl sticker ones that were in the car when i bought it! LOL...

Rafael, I think you're right that for the price they can't be beat, but you say they are very accurate, are you sure? I am pleased that you are happy with them, that's great, but could I persuade you to post up some fairly close up pictures? The thing is, this thread isn't for me, it's for guys to make an informed decision about how they want to spend their money. So far, the ones that have come out of India have not proven to be very accurate copies of an OEM shield. Good price - yes. Accurate - not really. If you're happy with yours, great, that's what counts, but if at all possible what we're trying to do is give people a totally open view of the options. A guy on another thread is selling shields and has said they are accurate, this could cause people to buy them under false pretences as they are not. Please post up pics if pos so people can make an informed decision. Cheers.

When I bought my 355 I also bought some aftermarket fender shields off another forum member without knowing who made them. The seller told me he thought they were Yoshi shields and I now think otherwise. Well I decided to buy some off ebay from India to compare and this is what I found.
The ones on the left are the first set I bought (unknown manufacture) the ones on the right from India. Clearly difference in size and of course the skinny rear legs on both.

One more time on the shields. I was able to find a pair of Yoshi shields and in the interim had bought the ones off ebay from the UK and here they are.

IMO, they are very similar. Identical in size and thickness. Good representation of the graphics on both. Yoshi are more golden than yellow on the field color. Yoshi green stripe is lighter than UK. UK black border is a tad wider in general.

    Overall, They are pretty similar.

I am going to keep the Yoshi and sell or return the others. If someone wants the UK ones, please let me know amd I will sell them to you with a 10% discount as an Fchat thing. :)

The last pic was snipped off someones post of factory shields. I am not so sure from that pic that the UK ones are closer in color on the field yellow.

I don't know but I feel the indentations on the fenders make for a cleaner original look vs the stick on ones that look misplaced or aftermarketish. My eyes could be misleading me IMO.

these are on ebay for 1500

No doubt Joe but no fix for that for those of us who don't have Oem. They are 1mm thick, but I hear you and agree

No doubt, although the 1 mm thick ones are quite close to the fender. I actually looked into getting my 348 fenders 'stamped' over here in the uk but was strongly advised against it. A Yoshi comes off and you're easily back to original for sale. Go for the other option and you're looking at having to replace your fenders if you want the car back to how she 'should' be. Yoshis got thinner over their production run, I got hold old old and newer and there was a big difference in how they looked when taped on.

I never understood why Ferrari would not just make it standard on every car that left the factory. I have to be overly convince to add the paste on ones. Maybe if Yoshi made .50mm -75mm including the 3M might convince me.

Does it appear from the looks of that receipt as though Mr. Cage financed part of his 355?

Up until the 355, all previous cars only got the shields if they were directly developed by the Scuderia ie the racing division of Ferrari. So a 348 GTC got them, TSs and TBs didn't. That's what the shields actually meant. A little while after Luca took over they were made an option on normal models so stopped being an elitist badge just for the Scuderia. Tbh I'm not sure that .75 mm would make any difference - it's the indent around the shield that makes a difference rather than how far they protrude. That said, in normal daylight the Yoshis don't look bad, pretty difficult to tell the difference from OEM unless you're pretty close up.

Not having the intentions, where is the correct position on the fender for the shields? (F355) How far down and how far over from the edge?

Before I even came across this thread I noticed only the Yoshi Shields or Yoshields had a slimmer "S" (scuderia) and "F" (ferrari) than the other replicas, which makes it more accurate than the others. The ones from ebay or India, seem to be from the same source to me. Why the prices are so different, I have no clue.

I just received a pair of yoshields from Super Tweaks. I asked for the ones that matched the front emblem (355). They sent me the darker ones. They look nice and rich, but I'm not feeling the yellow of these darkers ones because they don't feel as accurate as the lighter ones. I still hope I can get the lighter Yoshields.

I actually really like the way you've done that and think it makes a big improvement to those shields. I'd almost be tempted to do that to my shields to preserve them for the future but they're already on the car - could always mask the whole area up I guess.

I will stand by what I've always said - having looked at loads of shields from originals on several models and over the years to most of the aftermarket ones about, if you can't have OEM shields with the indents in the wings, then Yoshis are the next best thing and are better than any others I've seen in terms of accuracy and quality. Clear coating some of the slightly cheaper ones does seem a good option to help with the quality end of that equation though.
