sorry for getting in a tad few days late! Gong Xi Fa Chai guys....... Jon congrates on the 328! and there you were telling us the Mrs wanted you to trim the "fat"!!! lol!
Thanks guys. Here it is. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142091959-post95251.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142091969-post95252.html Was shopping for an S1 E-type or 3.0CSL but this 328 showed up & it's a local car so saves all the hassle of import & it's priced reasonably. Was offered to trade the 456GT for an 08 Audi R8 with top-up but fear I might regret it so...... The wife? She doesn't know yet but she took my #328 plate for her car
wow! looks immaculate inside out. < COE is very good buy! just tell your wife you got a very good investment deal lol
Thanks guys. The seats on the 328 were redone but wrong material & colour as I don't think Ferrari used this shade of brown in that era but the red carpet looks original though. Will be dropping the engine & replacing fuel lines etc & fixing all the bulbs in cabin but might be a full blown project Yasir, I wanted to check out your 550 but as you know V12s are tough as nail to sell. My dealer sold me the 456 so it's a friendly trade back & at the price he's taking, it's so cheap that its humiliating but our cars require a lot of expensive maintenance & I like to do touring so reliability is important. Problem is we get some cars that are trash & being marketed at very low prices so it affects the top tier cars. Never test drove the R8 so it's based on reviews. It's just the shape that I don't quite fancy & of course being a common car means it'll depreciate really bad & Audi stuffs are fashionable items so it'll be outdated fast. I'm not surprised that the R8 will be a Rm150k car in few years time. Was also offered the rare white 964 Speedster, yes that one but couldn't afford the asking price though
Agree with you with Jon but somehow i am always tempted by the v12. Contemplating to get a 612, but could be a financial suicide, so dropped the plan for now. 964 speedster would be sweet. what was the asking price?
It is a suicide mate. Be prepared to lose hundreds of thousands so make sure you milk it well ^^ Will pm you the price on the 964.
Btw, Jon, if we were to buy a car from an agent who will store it in Langkawi for us, how much garage space do they have in the island ? Is such an arrangement only for supercars, or can also be had for ordinary sportscars like a Mercedes SL etc ? Thanks..
Thanks! Not yet sire but looking @ it most likely back to EM again at least they have insurance to cover just in case since I'm always not around & the owner is a friend but will have to tell them to work within a budget rather than slaughtered I've no idea mate but I'm sure plenty of warehouses available there. Quite sure anything with wheels are possible too. The problem about Langkawi register is car dealers will pass you a contact/runner who'll handle all the documentations etc. which I'm uncomfortable as the dealers just want to sell you a car & wash their hands off it. I've had enough bad taste of dealing with runners as they either go MIA or simply ignore you. As usual, promise everything & deliver little or nothing after getting paid. There's also a 5 figure annual renewal fee to be paid to the runner so an SL might not be worth it except exotic cars.
Jon, which rental company are you planning to use? If you don't mind PM me. Really tempted as I have a couple of weeks off in that period of calendar.
Hi please contact them through the lambo50.com site & they'll put u through. It's very expensive 13k for 5-6days with a 15 or 30k deposit. So much that I'm looking for a Lambo to buy over there, use it then sell.
Would shipping your own car to and flo be cheaper? There gonna be some vacation arrangement for that right? Like how the Arabs do. well .. they are MOST probably so rich they don't care ..
By all means, I gave up on that idea. It's tedious exercise from Malaysia side alone & I documented it in this thread. Cost wise, I never totaled it but its probably in excess of US$10k but the trouble & time costed more. Don't forget the return trip as well. Up to last year, 1.5yrs later Italian customs contacted me warning of taxes as they did not receive notice that my car was exported!!! If you think Malaysia admin is bad, Italians aren't better
Malaysian bros, Hello there! Am working overseas but looking for a F to have fun with whenever I am home. Any lead on a 456? How much is the V12 worth now, a 96 model? Interested to know. Regards Michael
Haha just the right timing. I'm selling mine. One of the best provenance around & FSH. Black with ivory interior. Cheap!
i think you should avoid the GTA and look for the manual version (GT). Jon would be the best to advise here as he is a current owner. Prices are being asked from around RM170k onwards from the last time i checked. There are a few examples on the classifieds. Which part of Malaysia are you from?
Hi Bikz, thanks for inviting me for the meetup. Was thinking go back to ipoh for early retirement (kampung style) for the past few weeks as really tiring with my current working/lifestyle but after the short meeting, too much poison from all of you especially the 458!! must work harder for more years. haha.. how's your F?
Hi bros, I live in KL, MK 3. Are you selling yours SF? Black and ivory is beautiful. Any pics? Jon, mind letting me know how this beauty compare to a 355, besides it's a 2+2? Regards Michael
My current ride back home is a 944T. The only setback of this car is, it only has two crampy seats behind and I can't travel very far with it with an adult behind. So I am looking for a fast car that can also comfortably accomodate one adult in the back seat. Having said that, I am also aware of the V12 engine which is of course its reliability, maintenance and whatnots. How often does it need a service and what could breakdown since it will be a garage queen when I leave the country for work? The only trouble with my 944 is to jump start it and off it goes. Would there be more complication in a 456? Jon, how many moolah are you asking for your ride? Regards Michael
Hi Michael, mine's '84 944 NA Planning to send my car for timing belt change soon. already got the parts from allzim.com. where you send your 944 for maintenance? Chan
Hi Chan, Good to know someone in a Ferrari community also owns a 944. Mine is actually a 86, 951. My mechanic is ah fatt, his new workshop in Sunway Damansara, haven't been to his new place since I have not been home for a long time. Whereabout is allzim.com located? Ah fatt has all the resources for parts and he knows 944 very well. This car is a blast to drive in straight but not responsive with corners. So I am thinking of getting a sporty car that can nicely accomodate 4 adults . Panamera is too costly for now. I am due for holiday soon. Regards Michael
