Seems like I'll never get her home. The Ferrari Tech is being meticulous, which I appreciate tremendously. But between the actual service and waiting for parts to come in, it will be a 3 week or more process. I'm amazed at how close the engine belts and pulleys are to the seat backs.

Yes it is. I knew the car would be great when I purchased her, but the deeper we get into the service the better it gets. Very well taken care of. The last service was 2007, so we are swapping out all of the rubber parts in the fuel pumps and replacing anything that is even slightly worn. Also adjusting all the valves why we have her opened up.

LOL. No not at all. This guy is incredible. Vey patient and very thorough. He knows what he is working on and has a ton of respect for the car. He wants it perfect when he is done, as do I. So I'm more than willing to wait.

AMAZING !!! I had no idea that the F40 had an access panel behind the seats to replace the belts (like the 360 Modena)...
I thought it was an engine out process like in the 348/355...
Thanks for sharing the pics !!!

    Enjoy you car !!

Very clean F40, what part is "15 USA" on, I would presume this part is bespoke to the USA F40s?

Good luck with your F40. When I acquire min it was advertised as "needs nothing" by the well known Ferrari purveyor. I thought it ran great until I had it serviced now it really hums.
Enjoy and I might suggest you spend the money now on Classiche Certification. You will value the decision later.
    enjoy

Rear A-arm. Fronts have "USA" marking, as well, though are occasionally fluffed-away.

    Clean Forty, 06Spider!

Thanks for the write up and sharing!

It is interesting how they copied the access panel onto the 360.

Just wondering how many miles you have on her? I sold mine about 8 years ago with 17,000 miles. These cars love to be driven!

I don't know why Ferrari needs to put the engine really that close to your kidney's... It's not like you need to be reminded this thing is "All Engine!" ;)

    That is a beautiful car!

If your F40 is stock, its worth doing. You never know if you come to sell the car one day, and if so, for different reasons to different people, it always helps.
