No, seriously, i dont know my a$& from my elbow compared to some folk here, it's an education (so i tell my wife when she wonders how can i spend so much time reading fchat). Thanks for asking about #10402 - not a resto but a rolling refurb i'd guess you'd call it! hoping bushes and steering rack done before end of spring (thanks fastradio for parts and sage advice), and am awaiting a mounting plate to fit the very non oem electromotive which i hope i can manage myself. Replaced a headlight motor (thanks jim400i) and the refinished 16inch gotti's (thanks fasterisbetter) are awaiting tyres (i promised myself only to fit them once the suspension is rebushed). The list goes on....10402 was a tired but sound car, it deserved some freshening up. Economic? No. But its a bit of fun. One thing is for certain, before the www/forums like fchat, a guy like me would be finished with a car like mine - emotional and financial wreck. Now its monkey see, monkey do and when its over your head, you know where to turn which ultimately mean more of these caRs will survive.
The hack job on the interior and bumpers (what you can see) tells you a lot about what you can't see. All the stuff you mentioned plus the engine painted, strange vents jammed under the dash, tinted windows all screams to me that this car has been beat. All that is missing is Ferrari stickers plastered all over it. This car is not one to start a project with. You'll be underwater in a heartbeat. Trust me. and the answer to your last question is yes...
They could be your signature piece...I would love to see a pic at some point. Good to hear you are making steady progress!
Too much baloney out there...not enough veal... Loren, bet you can't wait for spring! We should all meet up someplace central for a nice drive.
The US ones are not no bad and still faster than a GTB/S, I actually like the US exhaust treatment better. It is the love you put in that make the shine come out! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rotten tomatoes at the ready - as usual I have no affiliation: Ferrari : 308 Factory in Ferrari | eBay Motors
10174, which was in FerariAds.com, is still for sale. Has a few small needs, but I think a very pretty car in sound condition. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know this is sometimes controversial but I painted mine to copy the original GT4 Ferrari factory engine photo. I tired to be as conservative as possible and tried to make my engine look as close as i could to the factory photo. I added the horse logo from a boxer gas cap in the middle of the oil cap as after buying 3 new caps all had chipping chrome in the middle. I gave up and just glued the cavallino in there. Both these can be easily removed. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
