Went to Geneva and checked out the P1 and the LF. Interestingly the P1 still needs customers although they sold 20+ on the first few days. We know about the LF. Sat in the LF and it is truly beautifully detailed. Loved the sliding pedal arrangement, works really well, but next door was the F12 in a colour scheme I had been thinking about but very similar to an earlier car I owned and was concerned about repeating. Then I saw it in the flesh, Grigio Silverstone and Cuoio and it looked BALLISTIC. Truly beautiful, light enough and with enough metallic to show the details, dark enough to look mean but interesting. Debating the interior detailing which I will post later for thoughts but the car is so well optioned that you probably only need to add about $15k in options, max. Makes it appear good value against the Spider?

I have four weeks to finalise the spec but the short affair with Spider is over and the F12 in GS and Cuoio will take her place. Don't like the optional wheels on this car and prefer the standard which is a further $5k saving.

I also noted the paint job was of a different league to my Spider but suspect as a Motorshow car they decided to use a spraygun rather than paintbrush.

The F12 is the most elegant and beautiful car in their current line up. And, it goes like hell!

It is good value because (at least in the US) many things are standard that are expensive extra's on the 458.

That beautiful two tone dash for example is standard.

Personally, I would not put the racing seats in this car. Even the standard designs are quite nice and already powered at no additional cost.

I totally agree but do feel the Daytonas really suit the car. Add those and some CF and that is about it?

Are you giving in or is the Boxer rumour true?

I also admire Grigio Silverstone. My wife's F430 is done in it; it sparkles brightly in sunlight while always being elegant and conveying a high tech aura. As for wheels the standard ones are fine, and you can always find great ones to your taste in the aftermarket, if and when you feel like a new pair of shoes. :)

The F12 won't be available for 18 months. So, I'm looking classic in the mean time. :)

Aside from Rossa corsa; Grigio silverstone is their best color. My wife fell in love with a 430 in that color with dark brown leather. (Not sure what its called).

There has been talk of a Boxer but wouldn't a Daytona be more fitting?

Why the secrecy? Are you waiting until you have done the deal?

No secret -- I'm negotiating now. If something happens, it happens. If not, no big deal.

I am not. I assume all manufacturers take their show cars off the line and spray them properly. It would just be nice if the basic quality for the rest of us was of a quality.

My personal $$ 0.02: Silverstone comes to life with red or bordeaux interior. If you don't wanna go for the latter, you're better off with Argento and Titanio on the exterior - which are both safe and fantastic choices for the F12; in comparison ferro metallic is not worth the upcharge. 100% agree that the standard wheels are nicer. Thought about the grigio ferro option for the wheels?
