I'll tell you what I find amazing, the time and money guys will invest in making a Fiero look like a Ferrari. ;)

True - some are hideous, but he does do some really nice upholstery.

My issue is not with the work but, it's with the lingering concern.."how the heak am I going to get that dash out to have shipped to the guy. So, we are the first on this thread let me ask you. And Erick..lol What is the skill level required to remove the dash. Novice, intermidiate or pro? Thanks for this thread!

I can't imagine wanting to do all of that work, and still end up with something that's not really .... well anything. I'd do a nuts-and-bolts refresh of a Lotus Esprit instead.

    Great attention to detail though.

I've never removed my entire dash but how hard can it be? I'd say novice, if you can turn a wrench and use a screwdriver you'll do just fine.

It's the, "putting it back in thing," that worries me. All of those extra parts left over...

I dont understand? If these guys have this much talent and time, why don't they buy a salvaged 355 or a 348 and fix it? Its affordable, and the end result is a Ferrari.

I would imagine because rebuilding a Ferrari is probably 4-5x more expensive than a Fiero. I have been member of the Pennocks Fiero Forum for years, having owned several very nice ones (one V8Archie Chop Top LT1 Fiero). I can now attest that since my 348 has been in the shop for nearly 3 months that a Fiero is W A Y cheaper, and easier to get worked on!
Additionally, many of the members there are doing these as projects just to see what they can be capable of. Some of the creative ideas I have seen on that forum impress me all the time. Probably why I am still an active member there even though I have not owned a Fiero since 2004. Take a look in the "construction" section of that forum and see some of the amazing things that are being done.

Have you priced parts for a Ferrari vs. a Fiero? Remember, the most expensive Ferrari is a cheap Ferrari.

I like what they do, I still do and always will tinker.

It's not the fish you catch it's the fishing trip where the fun is.
