Congratulations on the purchase! I would truck the car over to a reputable Ferrari Dealer or Ferrari independant shop first, and have them go through the whole thing with a fine-toothed comb. I wouldn't drive the car until they have covered all of it for you.

You should end up ahead of the game on your price. Don't skimp on anything mechanical. Enjoy it and post photos of your adventures.

As long as the car is clear title and no accidents I think you got a fantastic deal. Worst case guides + full service would be 20K so you're still doing great for a 15K mile car.

Did you get any service history or records of any kind with the car?

Am I missing something? Where is the exhaust pipes? Is there an engine under the lid? :)

Great price- unbelieveable price- Best of luck.

Car has definitely been hit as evidenced by the three different colors of yellow on the front end of the car.

You know what they say about cheap Ferraris...

But at $30K tough to get hurt here...

yeah exhaust is sitting next to it on the floor and the trans had a broken pilot shaft. a mechanic suggested doing the trans w the service. charged me an extra 9 hrs for it. clutch has 3k miles on it. thinkin about the valve guides and headers since the motor is gonna be out.

LF Fender and front bumper different color than hood- Fender's get painted when they are damaged.

You're going to wind up with a great car for sure- but the "bargain" aspect might be in doubt. Several here have bought very inexpensive 355's and they all wound up with $70K cars.

If you're paying for your service work then I would imagine repair/replace tranny, major service and paint repair would certainly put you into the mid to high $50s. But a low mileage car deserves to be brought back to a high standard.

Just because it potentially has a painted bumper and fender does indicate it has "definitely been hit." That's a really bold, buzz kill statement. It's an 18 year old car, there are any number of reasons it may have needed a couple of panels painted.

I agree, any 355's that have been driven will almost certainly have either rock chips or painted panels...not always a clear indication of accidents, and shouldn't be an issue either way at this price. I just bought a car with minor damage and in the process of correcting it we found previous paintwork in several spots....like your girlfriend, even the good ones are not all as pure as they seem:)

I agree. It always sets me off when someone says "it's been painted I don't want it. " Oh really, would you want it with the rock chips it had all over prior?

Are you saying my gf isn't pure? ;)
