4th...yes we are all well aware that last year was all about gaining experience in a new series. mark my words, this year will be all about gaining experience in a new series too :)

and read my comment on the change for races raced to remain rookie status. i agree that they wanted to enter the max amount of events w/o tripping up her ability to contest for rookie of the year in 2013. you and i agree largely on this i suspect.

5th...yes we are in violent agreement that she has a top tier team.

you said she has an extensive resume. we are conflicted. she brings an extensive start history in various open wheel classes but cannot cite any substantive success or series championships. a decent but hugely funded racer.

as far as rookie status...we agree that technically she is a rookie having only 10 starts in 2012. that said if she ran 10 starts in 2011...that would have been her rookie year.

    6th...we agreed.

    my last comment was:

"danica patrick is not the talent that she may think she is nor is she the talent that the media would suggest. she is however a marketing darling and seems to be worth her 100 lbs in gold ! not a racer and never a champion."

curious as to how you would sum her up in as many words?

I went to her wiki page to count her Nationwide and Cup starts. I came up with 59 according to wiki but I played it safe and said under 60 :)

Glancing further on her wiki page I noticed she has done a lot more than I thought. Her entire career to date is pretty extensive. Has she won a lot. No. Has she done a lot. Yes.I said she had an extensive resume. That is true. Whether it is impressive or not depends solely on who you're talking to.

    From Jaski's :

Patrick generated massive social media impact at Daytona:

During a Speedweeks in which she twice made NASCAR history, #10-Danica Patrick's performance triggered some unprecedented reverberations in social media, too. Repucom, a global company with an office in Charlotte, found that Patrick had 971 million impressions on Twitter in the eight days spanning when she became the first woman to capture a Sprint Cup pole position to the first to lead the Daytona 500. By comparison, the 2012 Daytona 500 pole winner, Carl Edwards, had 15 million impressions during the same timeframe last year, and Patrick had 19 million in the two months entering her Daytona 500 debut last season. With an advanced algorithm that has a 3% margin of error, impressions are calculated through tweets, retweets and replies about a topic and the number of followers associated with the accounts.

"It's staggering," Repucom vice president Peter Laatz told USA TODAY Sports. "That's a really good thing for the sport, and it's great for her and great for her sponsors. We thought last year was a big deal until we looked at the numbers from this year." Repucom, which measures the impact and valuation of sponsorships across several sports and tracks close to 1,700 NASCAR brands, also estimated that primary sponsor Go Daddy received 1,203 seconds of on-screen branding during the Daytona 500 that was equivalent to $2.9 million in media value. During Patrick's last full season in the Izod IndyCar Series in 2011, Go Daddy had 5,637 seconds of screen time but nearly half the media value ($1.5 million) because NASCAR's ratings and reach dwarf rival racing series.

Not all hash tags are used in a positive manner regarding the tagged...

Kurt Busch hit an uptick with the social media in a VERY negative way....really bad press, ended up getting dropped like a rock from Penske...

this is true chas but ole kyle will get around that track pretty fast...she will be a lap down in under 20 laps. if the lucky dog is favorable she will stay on the lead lapfor a while.

w/ 15 second lap times, 30 mins would have a more substantive effect. i hope they get the race in. bristol is a good one!

after spending yesterday listening to ALMS and F1 broadcasts, listening to DW and Larry Mac is like watching an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies.

    I miss Ned Jarrett too.

honestly Bristol isn't a very good race...Richmond and Phoenix are better IMO.

where's PSP? haven't seen her much today.

5 laps down having benefitted from a lucky dog early on.

she has kept clean but honsetly, she has not raced anyone. just riding around in a hendrick hot rod.

i know i am seen as a danica fan (lol) but she really is not much of a "racer".

she really needs to get back to the speedway and super speedway fast!!!!
