Staring at 35.000 $ with a reserve price.... Lamborghini : Other ESPADA 400 GT in Lamborghini | eBay Motors
Looks nice except for that monstrosity of an ignition system. They couldn't make it look better than that? Inspite of what the seller claims this car has ahd some work done so it's hardly original but I like it! Interesting that as a S3 it has no PS yet there are S2 Espadas with PS ... weird? That's a great color too. Reserve of $49K. Let's see how it does.
That depends upon the actual condition. If it's really sound mechanically it's worth every penny of that and at $49K I would not be at all surprised to see it cross the Atlantic. Too bad it has no PS but that can be added. It's only money LOL.
It looks like the engine is being attacked and consumed by an octopus ... hold on, at closer inspection it appears to be a duodecapus. Laust
the question should be how bad do you want one . If the answer comes back "BAD" then buy it for what it takes to get it! fix it drive it and rejoice in the ownership of a beautiful rare Italian 12 cyl classic . take time to listen to the motor at speed , by yourself , windows down in a tunnel somwhere. Smell the gas the oil and the leather heating up in the sun and dont even think for a minute about how much ever. Fact is you never see a Brinks truck at a funeral jus sayin.... Gary Espada 8394
I guess LiraCanyon is too big for plate? I drive though a tunnel, short one, almost every time I take the car out Gary.
Well, the last 1973 red Espada S3 (# 9222) with rebuilt engine, power steering, small bumpers on eBay sold for $39,100. It has 22,422 original miles. It is a very nice one from TX. I hope this will give you some ideas on S3 pricing. Tom/Colorado
Don't expect to see many like that at that price. Curiously it had a lot of engine work done for a car with such low miles. Some interesting upgrades like the front calipers. It also has the bumperettes and arguably the color is less interesting, personal taste. Still, it appears to be a nice example looking at from eBay photos. I think the one currently on eBay will end up in Europe.
Power steering became an option late during S2 production and standard early during S3 production. Ive never seen an S2 with PS. For the S3 I believe that the ones without PS were delivered with a wooden steering wheel while S3 with PS were delivered with steel steering wheel.
When I was first looking for one I saw a S2 in California that had PS. But now you can add the electric version without all the extra junk in the engine compartment.
I believe all three Espadas currently being discussed (Gary's, the current ebay listing, and the one that sold) are all the same color imo.
The one that sold for $39K+ which was referred to by Tom as an example of appropriate pricing was plain red. Gary's is not a Lamborghini color afaik. It's also solid color. The one just listed with very low miles says burgundy but it looks like a metallic color to me? The one shown below sold several months ago and that's a brown metallic. That one sold for almost $59K which explains somewhat the reserve on the current one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The one referred to by Tom is a real dark red called Colorado Romo or something like that, and it almost looks like burgundy, hence the confusion I think.
I do not know all the factory reddish colors came with the Espada cars. I have came across at least three - rosso, rosso granada metallic, and bronzo metallic (reddish brown). The one on eBay looks like rosso granada to me. Tom/Colorado
Just for the records, the final price on the eBay Espada 400 GT (Red/Tan) with 8350 miles is $53,101.99 with 22 bids ended Mar 23, 2013, 23:00:00 PDT, more than the Buy It Now price of $49,000. Tom/Colorado
About one of the two Espada sold at Paris this begining of the year, I'm very surprise to discover and to read in the last April issue of "Classic & Sports Car", page 174, the European auction results proudly confirming £46,920 or 48.000 + fees... I'm speaking about the light blue Espada S2 #8011. I've noticed today it is advertised by a Belgian trader, well known, asking 38.000 . LAMBORGHINI ESPADA 400 GT S1 SERIE 1 | Beerens Is there someone who can explain me how this is possible ? Considering that magazine has not done a typing mistake, and, knowing the trader quite well, I'm 100% sure he is NOT selling to lose money... Any clue ???
Is this a S2 Espada car? Dash is not S1 . Buy high and sell low! This is a new concept unless there is something wrong with the car. Tom/Colorado
always been a S2, it is an error of the trader offering it... but it still doesn't explain why it is so cheap now ????
Weird. The car does look worse in these somewhat higher quality photos. That interior is going to need some work. The front seats have been redone without the perfs and the fit looks questionable. Door panels look worn. But that doesn't explain the price differential.
