please excuse me if my comments have been a bit harsh but i dont understand why one would "modernize" a car that is right on the way to become a classic.
Would you "modernize" a Dino 246 too if you would own one?
the 348 is far from modern but it looks great as it is.

    Seriously love the photo!

But they should have left the sills black, looks too modern ;)

the 348 Spider never had black sills. they were originally painted. only TB and TS had black sills. from the Spider and GTB and GTS models on this was changed by the factory.

Yes, I know mate, wasn't being serious. Do personally prefer the classic look of the black sills but conceed it's not your fault they changed them :)

The black bonnet grill is horrible. Always hated it.

Funny, I like it on the spider but not on the TS/TB. Looks really good on your Spider, maybe because it is also lowered?
I love the 348's but they will never become a classic in my opinion because too many were built, nearly 7000 models I believe.

No, the small crappy plastic grille in the front bonnet lid.

The 355 one is metal and much better looking.

Apart from that, the 348 is one of the best looking Ferrari's.

..does not depend on the number of cars built. The VW Käfer (Beetle) became a true classic with millions built!

I think changing the rear tail lights is a great improvement on MY 348. I saved all parts to change back to stock if I ever wanted to though.

I would be sorely tempted to do the glass over the headlights. I presume that is a non-Ferrari item, and therefore would be considered heresy, but damn if they don't look even sexier with those on.

OK Falcon Wing here's your homework assignment: as the owner of a 348 and Elise, please compare and contrast the 2 cars in 2 pages or less. Extra credit for neat handwriting.

Been following this thread with interest. Personally, opinions are like a-holes.
And yes ive been called one of those lots of times. ;)

While I may not like what someone has done to their car, at the end of the day it's their car therefore their choice. I can choose to like it or not like it or even agree with the choice. I'm not that elitist to think the owner should give a rat's arse what I think- nor should s/he.

Luckily, we live in a society and have a forum where we can complain to our hearts content.

    My 348 cents....

Sorry to all the people who think everything should be left stock but this is a huge improvement mod to the rear of the 348 and it looks fabulous!!!!

355- esque rear, I can see the appeal, not for me but I can see it. Square lights with no grill a la 348 SS, really, really can't. Some of these things grow on me if I look at them a few times, that most certainly hasn't. Still, wouldn't life be dull if we all like the same things. :)

    Agree....

The 355's appearance for me is essentially a 348 with an improved front and rear. For the side, I enjoy the strakes and the vent so they're even.

Therefore, I am biased whenever you make a 348 look more like a 355.

Please don't hate....I still love the 348!!!! don't get me wrong but I just think the front and back designs are missing something.

    Don't hate at all :)

If the 348 had been built with the round tail lights, I wouldn't morn the loss of the grill, but it wasn't and I think the grill goes fine with the angular look of the car. The front end, got to say I prefer the 348 but only slightly, find it a little more 'classic' looking. Thing is I'm one of a few that have left the lower sills black, deliberately not to modernise the look. I want my 348 to look her age. I like her not being a modern Ferrari, to me that's a bonus. Could have got a newer one but just like the 348/Testarossa era cars, Tessa's too wide for the garage though, and actually prefer the 348 anyway.

That said, I've 'modernised' my interior a bit. I've not gone the whole carbon fibre route as I still wanted the classic look, I wanted it to go with the age of the car, but just sort of lifted it a tad.
