Actually it's interestingly true. The cycle was spot on for me. Except instead of the Prius I ended up with the Golf. It's really just not that interesting to drive exotics anymore.

On SGmart, there is usually 3 pages of used Lambo for sale. It's 2 the last i visited. Perhaps the new laws are motivating buyers to buy used?

it's moronic how the govt can implement policies with zero regard for the impact on existing industries. I feel for all the auto industry owners and staff who suffer the brunt of these assinine policies.

even for the more expensive ones? if that is the case, it's a good time a buy a one year old used car as the replacement with a new one will be a lot higher. Think it's a knee jerk reaction. Logically if new car prices are higher, used ones should go up as well. Perhaps a lot of folks take long loans with low cash down. Car market is going to be a roller coaster ride for the next couple of months.

    That's why I took a chance on a 1.5yrs old car that's qualified for old scheme :D

    90% @ 1.88% & 7years. It'll probably be my last expensive car here for a long while.

The new loan policy will kill many enthusiastic buyers who doesn't want to down 50% cash. Was over @ my friend's finance company & realised that some locals can't even afford S$2-3K insurance after paying for downpayment, 1st instalment etc. so sales were revoked.

To be fair, MAS did not regulate this industry for a long time & it's well abused. I don't know what's the default rate or average auto loan per capita, think the figures were published recently but not sure how accurate they were as credit companies may not submit figures.

But they most certainly shouldn't stun us right after sending out the White paper & property cooling measures.

ha. the system was not abused. Sg has very low default rates for auto loans. Just another example of the morons tinkering with something that was broken with dire consequences.

Take a 100% loan in low interest rate environment is the best approach to acquire a depreciating asset. Hard cash should be invested toward appreciating assets.

To be honest, I'm a little lost especially I have bikes too but they're nothing compared to the serious collectors here :)

One of my Jag died on me this afternoon as it's not driven for few weeks & I think it's not the battery but fuel pump or something else

haven't used it in warm weather yet, ferrari air cons are typically decent, i wouldn't expect any major issues
