front suspension assemblies were inspected, detailed and all the worn parts were replaced. Since this car actually raced most of the suspension items were replaced at one time Image Unavailable, Please Login
Roc, thanks again for helping me nail down my challenge car!! You were awesome in letting know what to look for. Can't wait to have them side by side this summer at all the outings. Cheers Felice
Congrats on the car Felice. You'll have fun with that for sure. We should get a challenge group out at Mosport.
It might be hard to find, but I'm sure Rocco can find it. Rocco, I have both silencers for my car. Unlike the 348 Challenge, I need a separate bracket for each silencer... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
European spec? That modification was authorized middle of '94... Best, Rob Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
Proven balance improvement but not legal modification. We also swapped front and rear springs so higher rate was up front, that was allowed. Best. Rob Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
Hello Jaun I don't have the loud pipe, that was available in 1995 for unrestricted noise tracks only. In 1994 the muffler was the only option, and this car never ran the 1995 season
Hello Rob the cams as they were set were retarded, I just used the cat spec. The Non cat spec was only two degrees more advanced than the cat spec. Since there is no race to win or prize money involved I'm not that concerned. also, many of the updates required money. This car was set up in 1993 and remained unchange through out the year
To be honest Rob, I have never driven the car at speed on the track. I will try it out this summer and make the nessesary adjustments if need be. thanks for the tip on the spring
For the first three months i had the car, I drove the car with the Challenge silencer for noise-restricted tracks. Unlike your silencer which is the same silencer used on street cars, mine is a bit smaller and louder than the street car silencer. Since last August when I had the open pipes installed for Watkins Glen, I've been driving on the street with those. I've learned to find speeds and gears I can drive in to keep the noise to a minimum. No one has bothered me about them on the streets or highways here. In fact, a couple of months ago on my way to Classic Coach, I had to pass an accident scene where six patrol cars had lanes in both directions blocked off and officers were directing five lanes of traffic into one in my direction. The officer just signaled me through and smiled and waved as I passed.
Not on the street, Rocco. A friend followed me back that evening on the day I went to Classic. I asked him that question specifically and he said no. I'm not sure what happens at the track. No one told me anything at the Glen. And I didn't ask. I'll find out more in five weeks.

I know I get a lot of popping when decelerating on the track. I'm sure it's flashing back there. I try not to drive that way on the streets and accelerate/decelerate slowly and smoothly. That's the only way I can keep the noise down anyway.
we needed to make sure that all the fuel lines and hoses were safe for use on the track as well as the street. The small filler neck vent hose was also in need of replacing and we could have used a generic hose but I opted for the original plastic Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have out grown the lets make excessive noise stage. I want it to sound good for me and not the people on the street. Here in downtown Toronto there isn't too many areas to unleash the car. I must be getting older. the fiberglass drysump car had a new tubi and it looked like the stanley cup under the car. The tubi muffler was sold the on the first day of ownership and replaced with the rare original single pipe system. Ferrari had less than ten origianls on the shelf back then I knew that it was now or never. Looking back I should have bought serveral more.
when the 355's were new and started showing up at the track they sounded like vacuum cleaners as they passed by the pits. Then the tubis were becoming available and the sound was spectacular. The 355 can use a garbage can as a muffler and it would still sound spectacular (tubi made it name with the 335 sound).
I'm past that stage too. But I'm not set up at home to swap exhaust systems so I had to decide which to leave on the car. There are a few noisier cars than mine serviced by Classic so I figure I'm OK out there with the open pipes. I know what you mean about the Tubi. There's a reason why the mufflers are black on those early cars without the shroud.
