Great to know you are working with the Italian Design Universities.

If you would like to work with an American institution we would welcome your input.
We were the only university in the Americas to finish in the top 8 schools for the Ferrari Design Competition in '11.

Those entry's were very cool but our Design, Engineering and manufacturing is all done in Italy and we're a very, very small Scuderia.

Huge difference. It also helps aesthetically in my opinion. Gives the car a more nimble and athletic look. Of course there are some exceptions to the rule.

Quick question Jim. What was the difference in overall height between the Enzo and P 4/5. I'm assuming P 4/5 is a couple of inches lower?

Thanks. Must be a striking difference side by side. P 4/5 looks much more compact to my eyes.

The politics behind automotive technology has become evident to me, but I am still enthusiastic to see how cars "develop" in the years to come.

So I am a first time poster, somewhat long-time lurker....

Firstly, Mr. Glickenhaus, I am in awe of what you are doing. I wish you the best and look forward to see what comes of this project.

Secondly, you stated that were keen on keeping the engine relatively small and possibly turbocharged, i.e. turbo V6. Are you possibly considering the 3.8L turbo V8 that Maserati recently unveiled in their new Quattroporte?

I saw in the "driving supercars on the street" thread you were talking about the problems of low supercars scraping on driveways. Couldn't you just mount tiny skateboard or rollerblade wheels under the front end, attached to the frame that allow the car to get through those tough situations? Nose lifting can only do so much and if it isn't enough, you will still scrape. I feel as though there should be some sort of backup protection under the front end, like wheels or plastic skid plates, for when you come to an angle that is just too steep.

We do that with skid pads but you must make sure they pass through all body work and exert force to the chassis or they will damage/crack what they are mounted to.

There's a lot of engineering involved in making cars more drivable in the real world.

    intercooler feed, but close enough

was just an example of internal air channeling that common in race cars, and limited so in production cars, due to cost and complexity typically

the P33 project sounds like will take more advantage of this, and given it's smaller dimensions would need to for various reasons, aero, downforce, cooling, etc.

This kind of conversation is beyond my level. These words describe you, not your interlocutor. Your way of conversation suggests why you are not in touch with Luca.

@MODS This post is my end of conversation (if we can call it like that) with OP. I hope you will not consider this as off-topic that needs to be removed.

Racing really teaches you these things. There's a famous F1 engineer who is interested in working with us on our concept and we may use a very interesting undertray that was banned
    in F1.

Downforce is what makes cars fast and interesting and that's what we're going for.
