Well, it was just a parade lap of the 58 Lamborghini cars that joined the event. A thrill, nonetheless. Had recently completed a substantial refresh on the Miura and it was running and sounding great. Kudos to David Moore at Moorespeed.

In one of the photos you can see Andrew leaning out of the Gallardo to take our picture. I'll let him post that one, it's fantastic.

I drove the COTA track at speed in December and it is spectacular. Grand Am race last month was terrific and MotoGP is coming in a few weeks. Nothing beats having a world class racing circuit in your home town!

Apparently the same guys who did the Enzo rally video. Poor Miura. I hope it gets rebuilt and they add a fire protection kit.

That's just horrible to watch. Let it be a reminder to always take a fire extinguisher with you when driving a classic

You'd need more than one, most likely... Here in Belgium it's the law to carry one in all cars. I have seen pictures of accidents where other motorists came to aide, emptying 10 or more on a car...

The thing to do is have an extinction system in the engine bay itself.

I'd take a hammer too in case you can't open the doors to get out.

They put that fire out just before it got to the gas tank, thank goodness, or else it would have been a god-almighty explosion. Good work.

I know the chassis number I don't think I should post it. Perhaps the owner will, or, more likely an enthusiast.

I have been lucky and have owned two SV in the past 4814 {pale Blue} and 4816 {yellow} both Rhd,Peter Hay who owned from new 4816 told me about picking up the car up new and the salesman at the time knocked on the side window and said if it catches fire press the clutch and hold the trottle pedal to the floor to suck the flames back in {he thought he was joking} 4814 caught fire while owned it,I remembered his advise and only damaged the carbs and the air boxes, but it was scary seeing the flames, sad to see this SV but hopefully it can be rebuilt

Does the rear grille match the stainless (chrome?) front grille and window trim?

When I saw the first pic posted and before the video was posted, I couldn't make out if the car was LHD or RHD and thought this car may have been the yellow ex Rod Stewart SV or the yellow Peter Hay SV that you owned.

My father owned RHD Miura SV s/n 4830 in the seventies and he noticed that the petrol would vaporise in the carbs, especially when the engine had just been switched off, condense, some of which would then through the carbs, get back into the engine via the open valves and wash the oil off the bores. The rest of the vapour could settle on the exhaust headers and ignite. He developed a system whereby the vaporised and condensed fuel, by a series of fuel lines, would be diverted back to the fuel tank, thus solving these problems.

Hi Steve, my thoughts exactly, I initially thought it could have been the ex Rod Stewart car. The question of whether the car can be rebuilt is presumably determined by the insurance company, but I would have thought the severe heat and extensive damage would render that unlikely.

The Rod Stwart car is now in Hong Kong,Stephen Hoyle owns the ex Peter Hay car{both Yellow Rhd},this car will be rebuilt, remember Piet Pulford built the JOTA from scatch, there are engineers in the UK who have the Jigs for the chassis and the body panels are still being made in Italy, everthing can be found or made along as there is a chassis plate.

Piet Pulford built the Jota using s/n 3033 as a base? which I'm sure you know. See here: Miura Register

Looking at the video at about 5.28, do you think the chassis plate will still be intact?

Well, lets hope that it will be rebuilt, it will be a big task for someone that's for sure. There's too few of these gorgeous cars left as it is.
