True. A Plymouth K-car with a Maserati sticker on it is not exotic. Good point. At least if there were any Merak at all, it would not likely have had that engine. Good for you, man! Good luck with the Citroen!
Estimate USD 18-24 K. Unfortunately an auto transmission, but looks nice: 1968 Maserati Ghibli Discovered In A Barn | Reviews | Prices | Australian specifications
Pity to see another classic Maser leave South Africa, but none of us knew it was even here in the first place! We can't register LHD cars here anymore, so it's somewhat of a moot point. Are those UK plates on there now? Estimate seems very low to me, but I haven't seen her in the flesh. Auto trans is a definite put-down. There could be only 1 Ghibli left here now. Too bad. Best, Jack.
beware what you wish for , because for the past month or so, my wife and I, have been planning a trip to Norway. Not 100% sure if the trip will happen, because at the moment we are also planing 2 more trips (Miami to Boston, south of Italy and Switzerland). I personally would prefer Norway over all others.
Let me know in advance Maserati Blue and I will arrange a BQ or something. With some planning we will be able to gather some fellow Maserati enthusiasts. Best regards Marius
Washington D.C. -> Philadelphia -> Boston & New England-> Maine is best as a fall trip Lates September -> October. The south FL (really should include New Orleans and surrounding countryside though) -> Savannah, Charleston ->Virginia is very nice in early to mid spring.
Thanks guys, much appreciated. I'll let you know if it will happen, still in the planning stages. The idea is to drive to the following places: Atlantic Ocean road (Atlanterhavsveien) Trollstigen road Lysebotn road the first two seem close enough to do them in one go. The third seems too far away. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You will have to cover many kms over stunning roads and beautiful scenery to just get to those roads ... and you could do Lysebotn on your way back south. Almost no detour at all! I presume you will be doing the trip in the Merak?
BTW, Maserati Blue: This should have been posted in a (new?) thread about great Maserati roads, not in here ....
Sorry for the off-topic posting. I shouldn't have mentioned the trip since its still in the planing stages. I'll open a new thread when the trip is a definite go. Not the Merak, I am afraid such a long trip will put too much strain on the car. I will probably take the GranSport.
We have seen this Indy before: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/maserati/393850-72-maserati-indy-copart-possible-sandy-victim.html Now being offered on eBay with the following description: "1967 Maserati Indy America, completely original example with new paint. Brand new spark plugs, oil, battery and professional starter rebuild. Just purchased good used carburetors, 4 X 2 barrels, to replace the old carbs that were bad. Both sets come with car, but they are not installed. Car turns over freely, and electric fuel pumps work well, but will not start until carbs are bolted on. Has brakes and steers well. This is a power steering car with a five speed. Good clutch. The interior has been completely conditioned and refurbished. It is beautiful and supple. It is the original leather with no tears in it. The front and rear seats, console, gauges and door panels need to be bolted back into the car. Although I love this car, and looked forward to using it as a James Bond car, I simply have too many projects to focus on restoring it. Accordingly, it is presented for your consideration. I have no other photos. I will not take any trades. You can inspect prior to bidding or by sending inspectmyride.com or other service. However, no inspection after action is over, at that point the issue becomes payment and shipping only. It is sold as is where is, no whining. Good luck bidding. Payment within 72 hours by bank wire or gold coins. I can post on truckstop.com to have delivered in the U.S. and buyer pays all shipping. I will include free shipping to Houston port for international bidders, together with number of forwarding agent to get the car to you without a headache. Although the paperwork calls this a 1967, I think it is a 1970. The original owner died in September 2010, and I never got to talk to him about that error on the papers. " The part of the car's history where it played the unintended role of a submarine was omitted. I guess that was not too important to mention ... I felt much better after reading that it had a "professional starter rebuild". I sure would not want an amateur working on this fine car. ebay is sure and entertaining place .... Ivan

Isn't that the stolen one? Quote from post on anamera: "This car has been stolen and is subject to legal action in the UK and potentially Criminal charges being brought also. Last known whereabouts of the car is being shipped to the US from the UK by Retro Classics of Dorset in July/August 2012. Any help to locate the car would be very much appreciated. I retain all importation and Customs paperwork for its entry into the UK in 2008 and title remains with me."
