I may be going in to no mans land here BUT. After looking into gear oil for my 1985 Mondial I see no data to support using Red Line or swepco gear oils over let say Kendall limited slip 80w90. Am I wrong? If someone could let me know, it would be a great help.
    Thanks Bob

Wade references some of the better threads on this, and the topic indeed has a rich tradition of discussion here.

FWIW, I have had great results with GM synchromesh... 2nd gear is well-behaved with it. I did a ton or research (most of which I've forgotten) and my research suggested it would be relatively benign. If you want to try to lick the 2nd gear issue without the hole-drilling fix that was advanced many years ago (and now seems forgotten), this stuff might help.

You will find the various gear lubricants are defended with religious fanaticism by their adherents. As a matter of debate, it is exceeded only by motor oil and stick vs. paddle discussions. You have been warned :)
