that got me thinking, arguably is was the '59 Buick Electra that first did the slanted lights thing and was copied by European designers.

The Buick doesn't have the separate grill treatment of either the Bentley or 330 though.

good point, although I would argue that the '58 Ford has vertical lights bent over, whereas the '59 Buick has horizontal lights set at an angle, so I'd give the prize to GM. :)

either way, the yanks were first!

A very decent looking S3 Continental with what appears to be factory air. Most I've seen have been pretty rusty, Rob will know it for sure. Interestingly, the design for that model was by Wilhelm Koren, a Norwegian. It's very pretty, and carries his characteristic "Step" in the upper edge of the rear window surround. The 330 GT 2+2 has this same styling treatment.

I always thought that Mike Parkes was responsible for the 4 headlight 330. I've always liked the 4 headlight over the 2 headlight, but as usual, I appear to be in the minority!

Don't forget the Lancia Flaminia as well, same 4 headlight treatment.

Actually, the Flaminia doesn't have the same headlight treatment, it's deceiving with the front wings having a slight "Kick" at the edge. Nice treatment none the less.

I think ALL the twin headlights are just plain ugly from any standpoint, there is no redeeming feature about them.

I nearly bought a Lancia Flaminia in '83 which was in the same showroom in Haberfield as the FIAT 2300S I bought instead, both were the same price but I didn't like the front end treatment of the Lancia.

I still miss the 2300S every now and then but it was only a good car to drive above 100 mph and that is just committing suicide in this country :( , below 80 it was a pig
