Hi Julius, missed you there.... trader was asking 185.000 , justifying it has just complete a full service with new clutch...
Olivier yes we missed unfortunately.. Seems that QV was nice CT accident free with some signs of using.Otherwise original paint and original leather and mileage about 30 000 if i remember right. What i have seen this was only one CT in whole Essen.. Julius
Hi, What process of paper grades are using? will you be using a rotary or DA for the polishing stages? what polish and Pad combo you thinking starting with? 2 or 3 stage polishing. Key is time take your.. 70 hrs went in the CT
There was a 2nd one offered outside in the middle court, it was a red CT 25th Anniversary, asking price 165.000 .
In a 1973 french magazine called "Europe Auto" talking about the Paris 1974 Auto Show. I came across it totally by chance by having a look at an Aston Martin DBS website. Salon de l'Auto 74 - Aston Martin AM Vantage Funny to read the comment where they predict that the Countach is the last of a golden era and that in the future they will be displayed in museum sharing their place with Diplodocus and other dinosaurs!
Looks it to me. Red is a tough one to match. Just went thru that with my car spraying the back doing the euro conversion. Had to do many (lost count) spray outs
Interesting take on that pic. NO. If you look at all the other pix you'll see the paint is the same. The sun was starting to set when that pic was taken. The only thing I touched on that car was the middle of the wing which had a bubble about the size of a dime. I will go on the record to say if not this summer, next summer for sure I'm going to do a repaint to get rid of those US side markers.
I thought this at first, but after looking at other parts of the car I decided it was just the lighting...
Triple-x great i am also preparing to respray my CT LP400S(Argento met) this summer or next so we can exchange some knowledges. Julius
Before you paint let me know what type of paint you're using. I wanted to go with the original PPG single stage, but I'm afraid it may be impossible due to the regulations that are in place today that weren't there in 84'.
Agree. If you look at a similar era 1984-85 Ferrari 288 GTO with ORIGINAL paint as prepared by Scaglietti for Ferrari SpA, every body panel is a different shade of red on many of the cars. I'd say the pic is inconclusive. For example, the rear spat looks a different shade of red too.
Look at the one with VB sitting in my car with the door up. The top half of the door looks like someone rubbed BBQ charcoal on it. Lighting can do funny things to that shade of red. Raymond can chime in when the car was offered for sale, he commented was it flake paint or pearl when he first saw it under dim lighting in the pictures provided. If you look at the aerial shot you'll see that the paint on the 500s has more "pop" than the LP-400. I've noticed during different times of the day last Sunday (from 7am to 7pm) that there was more "pinkish" color depending on how much sun hit it, it was the same observation we had prior to me buying the car 4 years ago.
If you look at the bricks the car was being displayed on and driven on you'll see and notice they were pink & tan and the (white with black and gold specks were granite) + the buildings were all the same pinkish color and the sun setting brought out the pinkish hues in the red. I've only noticed this when the car is in that type of environment or when the lighting is dim as in when the sun is setting. Very interesting color(s) to say the least, that's one of the reasons I may never touch the paint as I may never be able to duplicate it.
I want to do whole repainting in Italy..still thinking about the best option for repainting for my CT. I will see.
Was out today at a car run. spotted another CT and wasnt sure if the stickers on the OZ's were original or exact copies or not. Think I got some pics and ail post later if people interested?
Had mine redone in 2003 by the Factory, well one of the original companies that did a few back in the day. PPG single layer acrylic...
