    Small update.

    I did a little wiring last night.

    I ended up cutting a lot of wires to shorten the big mess of wires. Off course it was late so I didn't get a chance to see if she will start or run right. Fingers crossed.

    Now I got to think about how I'm going to mount the Tec3. One idea is to make a "L" bracket. Mounted to the trunk and the other part against the lip where the rubber gasket sits. 3rd picture.

    Not to many options. Anyone have any different ideas?

    The TEC unit needs to breath. Mount it where it will get the most air. Also, have you thought about running a wire back to the passenger compartment for your laptop?

    Just put a couple of 1/4 20 bolts through the fender...

    It's still a little crowded in that spot. I got most of the wires tied in that spot.

    I also have that tac box in that spot.

    Paul, I was thinking of that. Not sure where to drill a hole.

    Little update.

    Here's my bracket for the Tec unit. I had my buddy do a couple mods to complete it.

    I sprayed it black to match the carpet. Theres no need for more bling.

    My initial plan was to screw it where the tail light assembly is and the other end against the wall of the trunk.

    But then I figured if it goes in tight, it ain't going anywhere. That's why I slotted ends.

    Chris, i had to mount a computer cooling fan on mine and route fresh air to the coolong fan. my tec unit would over heat back there and shutdown...fyi.
    i cut a hole in the fender well (fiberglass), and routed fresh air in thru there.

    Looks great Chris. For that extra area next to the Tec unit, you could place a tray to hold fuses/bulbs/relays and it won't move around during driving.

    I like the fan idea for the Tec unit (if it doesn't have a fan in it); IDK about cutting a hole in the wheel well, though (small hole with a screen very near the fan might be ok).

    We are mounting the unit behind the passenger seat because of the heat problem plus dynamat on the fire wall. I hope it works.

    I mounted my TEC3 behind the passenger seat 10 years ago, as per Electromotive's recommendation - no issues.

    George, Paul what happens when the Tec overheats? Does the car just die or its doesn't run right?

    I think it shuts down but I have no personal experience with it. I had one on my XKE but again it was in a cool place.

    Well, I just read 96 pages in 2 days. What an experience. Props to a pizza guy for delving into such a project on such a car. Love it.

    I noticed earlier in the thread that you replaced the velocity stacks for just a low plate. I know with carbs, that the stack legnth makes a big difference in performance. Is this still applicable to a Fuel Injected setup? Have you lost any power or torque by not using them?

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Yes, on the Fuel injected system it doesn't apply tall stacks or low plates like on a carb setup. I would love to drive around with the tall stacks and no air cleaner but ill stay conservative and keep the air cleaner on.

    Well boys, today was the first official day.

    After wrestling with the rear bonnet for a hour I finally got to go for a real drive. Sorry no video. I wanted to be focus on the drive.

    After a warm up i drove about 2 miles to the gas station. I noticed there was alot of pressure when i opened the gas cap.

    After a nice warm up i drove to the local gas station and got 10 gallons of the premium stuff. Then drove around for about 30 minutes. She was driving rough in first gear. And a lot of back firing when I would let off on the gas.

    So after a short drive, I went home, cut the grass, took a nap and then went for a longer drive on the highway. Couldn't really open her up, there was to much traffic. Did about 20 miles. The back firing was still there.

    The tweaking continuous......

    It was during acceleration in first and letting off on the gas on any gear.

    Im so Glad I have a euro w/the fiberglass bumpers.My mechanic is installing new Koni w/Carrera 375/300 springs on 47407,,had a spongey leaker on the front and a locked up on the rear.Great thread

    What issue?

    Are those 550 wheels, did you have to relocate the rear shocks like Mark did?

    The Stebro exhaust would not line up. The small rear bend that goes to the rear header has to much bend.
