Bob The guy that's doing it has done some twenty something Miura interiors, including the Jota and the Roadster (although he's told me this is the first one he's doing back to original, believe it or not), so he has plenty of experience to do the dash and seats. So fortunately not a worry for me. I wouldn't think its and issue with seats in general, not having the car, but then im not an upholsterer. He is going to need the car to do everything else (carpets, head liner, center console section attached to the car, etc.) but before he can do that the car will need to be painted (and lizard skinned) and the wiring loom needs to be put in the car, since the carpet cover the loom going to the engine and tail area.
Ed I know of only one other, when the car was painted red and the tan interior was installed (I have before, during, and after pictures of that restoration; I posted some in the very first few posts). The car at some point prior to that had been painted white, although the interior appears to have been largely untouched. I am assuming, but have no proof, that the first color change (to white) occurred when the accident repairs were addressed. See the very first post that contains what I know to date about the car's history if aren't bored yet.
The rear bottom seat cushion on an Espada form fits to the interior panel towards the outside of the car, no gap. The bottom cushion on the right is getting replaced as it was horribly repaired at some point. So I worry about good fitment, well not that the original job was top notch on these cars either! LOL The front seats do not face the same issue. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, I guess I can see now why you were asking. Next I talk to him, I will ask if he's done any Espada's and if so, ask him about the rear seat upholstery and PM you.
All of this talk of Miura's on fire reminded me that I wrote this some time ago about the fire out system I had installed on my car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
While it is in a million pieces you might be able to hide the fire extinguisher system so that it is close to invisible?, ie. running pipes inside box sections, etc. Pete
We think alike. That's exactly what I intend to do. Not easy on a Miura, but I've got some ideas. Actually will be mocking up in the next week or two.
Convert to CNG then the worst that could happen is a complete explosion. You'd never even know ... LOL I remember seeing a few years ago some small to medium sized self contained automatic Halon systems that could be placed in an engine compartment or up front. They would be as effective as your system with the directed application nozzles but you might be able to quickly remove them for shows? I don't know if they had a manual activation override though?
The best choice! Tell him I said hello. I need to stop by and let him touch up a couple of things for me sometime before Quail.
Bob: My first preference is to reuse the one I have, but if that doesn't work, I will have to look at a different set up. Do you recall the brand name of the one you are referring to?

I've installed this product above the left wheel well, with a pull cord that mounts just aft of the seat. Pull Systems Cant speak to how well it works, as I've never had an engine fire (knock on wood). I put in the 5# bottle, but I see they have a super-small 2.5# option as well.
Tom: I wouldn't put anything less then the 5lb bottle you put in. I had forgotten that you sent me pictures way back when about your install (looking at them again, the engine and interior seem to be out, so you must have been restoring it at the time), so thanks for the reminder. Alberto
Yes that's similar to what I saw except that they were from someone else and "chromed" I think the discussion was on Fchat probably in the technical or race forum. I don't know how I feel about "automatic" stuff. If you're not around and the car catches fire for some reason, "spontaneous Lamborghini combustion", then that would be great. I think I'd still want to be able to activate it myself. IMHO you still need a hand held one on board as well.
This was done on my carbs during the rebuild by Jeff Stephan. The red dot on the carbs identifies that it was done (see pictures).
You guys joke, but Gary Bobileff at one tine restored a Miura where someone had put in a FI system and had to reverse it.
If it was done well then it should have run much better. Big if that. Did he have any comments on how it ran?
I'd imagine a Tastefully engineered EFI and a different exhaust could be good for some useable HP. I bring it up about once every 2-3 years hoping that some other guy will incur the headaches generating a roadmap, that i can then try myself. No luck so far. Yeah, I get that they didn't come that way, but I put a Wallace mod on my S, and it didn't come that way either.
