To add, Marcel is very approachable, a really nice guy. He is a judge at many concours, and really knows his "stuff".

So how does one get "documented by Massini"? Anyone here had that done?

Just send him a PM. He's on lots of threads in the Vintage forum and is a very good guy. Please note he travels a lot so if he is slow to get back to you, he may be on the road.

    Cheers,

    Keith

I don't think the "answers" here really answer what Danny is really getting at - What does it mean to have a Ferrari "documented by Massini?" Not simply how does one go about contacting him (which is partially relevant), or is he an expert (he clearly is).

I would expand this a little and ask, given that Ferrari no longer issues certifications like it used to (Ferrari now only does "Classiche" - read EXPENSIVE certifications), what can Massini provide that Ferrari won't, unless you go whole hog under Ferrari's Classiche program (and at times I wonder what they really know).

Marcel has a vast library of information and photos for individual Ferraris including their ownership history and in some cases, the comings and goings of key components such as their motor and gearbox.

If someone wanted to know the full history of their car but did not want to do the research themselves, Marcel is often able to supply the information or do the research.

    That's my understanding.
