I seem to remember being told that the WX-3 coupe (with the 6.0) was tuned to 800 or so WHP.

Not surprising :) There were some W8's that were way hotter than others. Some were just hot. None were cold :)

    That is it!

It seems that the specs of the WX-3s are not really known. Not too surprising, since the cars weren't really tested by the magazines. I will probably base the dialogue of the video more on the story of meeting Jerry and seeing the cars.

I got footage of the cars starting up and revving, so I will be posting that here. :D

Sweet! I don't think there is a better looking exotic roadster made!
I wonder if any thought was given to a top on this car..?
I think the specs are known...about as well as any W8 anyhow. The chassis & drivetrain are the same. There were changes planned, but since it never saw production & megatech took over before it went any further...

Vector planned for a V12 engine, too.
That V12 ended up in this Packard prototype:

Do you know if the falconer V12 was developed specifically for Vector?

I might even have a magazine feature on the Corvette, as well as a C4 big block car.
I thought I had read somewhere that the engine was developed for Vector, but I'm not sure...& hard to tell out of context...

IIRC this was the final version of the race car.
In the background is M12, chassis 005.

sorry, it is not a W8 chassis.
I guess it would be the Falconer V12 in an M12 chassis.

Very interesting! This makes me wonder...was the V12 purchased before megatech or after?

my guess would be before, during Weigart's presence still, he wanted in particular to have the Vector with all American content, and the Falconer V12 would be in keeping with that

I don't know, it still has the single rear shocks/springs (vs the duals in W12) ...the dash board area looks like the W2/W8 forms also
I'm guessing it is a W8 chassis, but stretched in the rear for the V12?

ok, it looks a bit different in the front end, but they likely made changes before painting

So it seems hazy as to which engine is powering the WX-3s. Is it the 6 liter (from the W8) that's in there, and the 7 liter just never got used? What's the story on that?

Also, did the 'Avtech' name only apply to the coupe, or did the roadster have that name too?

no production models actually got the 7.0L DOHC engine, the WX-3 coupe (with 7.0 DOHC engine, originally silver, later painted teal) and the WX-3R roadster (still purple, not sure what engine it has?) both shown at Geneva 1993) were the only ones built before Megatech took over all operations away from Weigart

The 7 litre engine was only in the car briefly...I'm never sure on the names, since Jerry called everything a "code name" ;)

I think there was only (1) 7.0L engine built.
...& you mean before megatech took over ;)

yes, I fixed it ...not sure if the 7.0L DOHC is still in the teal car? but presumably it is, as that what it had when shown (then in silver) at Geneva, the purple WX-3R I can't find a photo of it's engine bay, but presumably it has the standard engine 6.0L V8
