Sato basically dominated the race as far as pace goes. Great to see him finally win a race and congrats to Foyt Racing as it has been atleast one decade since they have won a race. I was very disappointed with Will Powers on track antics.

It was an interesting little race with plenty of action and slip ups. Hinch pulled a really silly move and Tag was never a factor, so outside of the Canucks going nowhere, I enjoyed the race and was pleased to see the unlikely combo of Sato and Foyt finally pull off a deserving win.

I know we're all supposed to be grateful for the "side-by-side" feature that let's us watch the race while the commercials are playing, but I'm not grateful at all. There are simply too many d*mn commercials during these races! Way too many. Shame on the network.

    I was confused.

Was that a race or a demolition derby? :)

There always seem to be a lot of crashes at Long Beach.

Too many drivers going for the same piece of track at once or like RHR, getting impatient, making an ambitious move and running out of room.

Watching these races though is tedious. NBCS had a half hour pre-race program and according to the menu on DirectTV, the race broadcast was to start at 4:00PM EST. Not even close, they had to do least another forty five minutes of these inane pre-race interviews and features, one going back to the 1984 broadcast featuring Paul Page and Bruce Jenner highlighting Mario Andretti's first CART win at Long Beach.

Other than taking up time and making exactly no point, what was that all about? How about interviewing Mario himself rather than enduring Paul Page again?

Again, too much pre-race stuff. They should follow the F-1 broadcast's lead, half an hour
pre-race, set the field, course description, interview a driver or two, green flag.

They stretched the Long Beach race broadcast into a three and a half hour ordeal. And, while the race was good (great for Sato San!) it seemed endless at times.

No use ranting though, no one at NBCS listens anyway.

And by the way, network, panning the camera across that silly fountain over and over and over and over is BORING!!

I thought the race was decent. Wasn't fond of the juvenile pre-race with the spraying of silly spray all over each other to try to prove the point that you have to pay attention while driving around a track with walls three inches away.

Camera work was shoddy going into turn 1 as well as they focused on the pack instead of the actual apex of the turn.

Very happy for Taku! Good to see him finally grab a win in Indy Cars! I am sure AJ was happy and smiling in his hospital bed.
