Not sure if the video will embed

Cannon HD cam with microphone on the rear license plate. Was pretty cool to get a lap even if it was at a crawl.

    :)

    Very nice video, Tim!

I love the sound, great idea to put the microphone on the rear.

Where is this track? looks like an urban route.

I missed you there. Would have liked to say hello. Ferrari's were definitely the dominant car there. There looked to be maybe 9 - 10 355's in the group.

Funny thing with the track. My buddy brought his classic '55 Rolls Royce and won a lottery spot for the coveted track run (limited to 50 cars only). He was told that track officials would only let "exotic" looking cars on the track for the run. "Exotic like a Ferrari" is what they said to be specific. I guess we know where the lambos, R8, Vipers and the like rank. Ferrari want-to-be's!

Very cool Tim. I noticed that you drove around the parking area for quite a while just so you could find a space that you wouldn't have to back into.

    Thanks Steve

    Was pretty strait forward.

Mounted it to the windshield inside with a Fat Gecko Camera and Camcorder Mount from Delkin.
Cannon Vixia HD cam those hero cams just dont cut it for nice video, the raw footage looks broadcast quality on the plasma.
Polarizing lens to cut the glare from the window
Microphone Audio-Technica ATR-3350 mounted to the rear plate with a windscreen foam to cut the wind noise.
Then just adjust the microphone input to where you like it best. We have it set about 60% gain.
I cant take full credit I have friends that told me what to do who are in the industry.
    The basics are simple.

Let me know if you need more info, it sure was fun and the video is priceless when its clean.

    :)

Mother's Car Care products sponsored an 'exotic" car event at the Grand Prix. 6th year doing so. Cost was $140 that included 2 VIP grandstand tickets, lunch for 2, special paddock parking and the fun of driving 100+ down the 101 freeway with 100 other cars to the event. I believe that they had a total of something close to 150 cars attend and they held a drawing for 50 cars to take a lap on the track. My friend won in the lap drawing but was not allowed to take his 1953 Rolls on the track so we did the lap in my 355.

They plan to do it again next year.
