I'm looking for the following, it's a plastic strap for a 400/412 glovebox that stops it opening too far - Ferrari calls it a 'tie rod' .
The part number is 253-76-834-00 or 257-76-834-00 or 95406012.
I've tried Ferrari UK/ Eurospares etc, NLA from Ferrari I'm told.

I've considered this, but the strap needs to be flexible and I don't think ABS or PLA would e suitable. They appear to be made of the same material as plastic wire ties ( nylon? ).

I can't imagine that Pinninfarina custom made the straps, I suspect they are adapted from another car or application - but which one.

Btw your vent looks nice, what printer did you use.?

These parts are made in Holland, I don't know what kind of printer, but the part we made was drawn in Solidworks by a fellow Ferrari enthousiast. It looks VERY original. Even the inside structure of the part. By the looks of your part, it could easily be made (exept the strap maybe!)

Sounds like quite a few of occasionally dump all the contents of the glove box on the floor. I was thinking of making a strap out of leather, do you guys think that would work?

Does your photo show the part as it is mounted and used with the glovebox open (it is in compression to stop the door motion?), or is it actually in tension when mounted properly and the glovebox door is open?

(Assuming that it's in tension with the glovebox door open) You'd probably still need to swage metal fittings onto the ends of a leather strap to handle the stress concentrated at the screw mounts. Most modern cars use a plastic-coated, multi-strand, woven steel cable with swagged end fittings -- sometimes called a "lanyard":

    McMaster-Carr

(Certainly not the only source -- and others may have different colors/materials -- I'd want black fittings and cable ;))

Since this part was made, could the maker also reproduce the sun visor retaining clips?
I'd buy a set in white.

    Hi Steve,
The part is in tension to stop motion of the lid, the strap shown in the photo is not attached to the glove box lid.
I think they fail because the plastic takes a "set" when the glovebox is closed and eventually breaks after repeated openings.
I was hoping for an 'original" solution but lanyard like you suggested would do the job - would be stronger too.

It's all possible. Get those parts to your local 3D specialist and have them scanned (or made in a 3D programme). The plastic can be white. Or you can send them to me and I can do it for you. I'm in Belgium. :)
