Now Rob, it still is fun, every now and then, to have someone around who, well, maybe can be a little pathological at times, not that I am saying that Shawn is. And, we certainly don't need additional "proof," do we? Of course, it can be exasperating.
Rob, why do you that? Your avatar is the logo of this site, so it seems like it is city hall talking. Or God. And that can't be very comforting. Particularly when you come in in an unfriendly way. Why do you have to remind everyone you are the Administrator? I have learned a lot about Dinos from Shawn, and I appreciate his contributions, postings, and notes here. I have never felt that he has put down this site. In contrast, and with respect, I feel a very negative vibe from you. Andres
I don't know any of the history here between Shawn and Rob but no matter what happened, I would expect an 'Administrator' to be above all of this ......
no one said it was easy keeping a bunch of Type A, eccentric, egotistical, and never take no Ferrari owners inline when online is so impersonal and gets out of hand quickly. I don't go looking for trouble or try to create it, but if someone wants to **** with me like Shawn then you can be guaranteed I'm going to straighten things out. It isn't easy, but in the end we're just trying to keep this a decent place for the majority. If you want I will post Shawn's history of put downs of FerrariChat and I just showed you he was wrong about the F40 and what I knew. You don't remember every post probably because you didn't care about it, but I certainly care every time Shawn put down FerrariChat for hollow reasons.
I think you have confused about what an Administrator does, I own the place and the conduct of our users is ultimately my responsibility because it impacts the quality of our community. If you want to make up stuff about me, put down the community with toxic posts, and stir the pot with things when you are the #1 offender then you are going to meet my quality control head on! My job isnt always to be Mr. Nice Guy so outliers can walk over the community.

I think what Rob means is I own the place and I can say and do what the **** I want. Look at my avatar. And if you don't like it, you can **** off. That kind of language and attitude would get us ordinary mortals banned, so you all better know your place.
Look, there is some history between the parties Rob and Shawn, that from what I can tell, most of us were and are unaware of, and most of us probably don't want to know the details at this time. This was intended as a whimsical post. All I want is Shawn (tx246) to pop in the 206/246 section when he wants to, and I certainly don't want Rob to get upset again either. So, everyone relax a little. If someone has a "chill" card to play here, I'd ask him to lay it down now. OK? So please, don't attack Rob OR Shawn in this thread.
I would liken it to an NFL player scoring an occasional touchdown, all the while trash-talking his own team's name, rep and administration. The administration tries to understand and accommodate the player, and in so doing, placate the rest of the team and it's fan base, but, no dice. Free agency ensues, and after a stint here and there, despite natural talents, no franchise wants to deal with the unnatural tension headache that the player creates. Until the recent flare up though, Shawn didn't trash-talk much in the Dino section - least not that I noted . . ., and Rob didn't get very upset with us here either. I'd like to see it stay that way. Like I said, Shawn provided good input in our little patch.
he's not banned, he is either getting attention with his "Dear John" or "death by moderator", we've seen it before with some of the outliers. if Shawn didn't provide some value to the community and this was really a bigger deal than it is, then Shawn would be banned. He isn't. Wax put it best.
I think you are smarter than that, so I assume you are just narrowly focused. There are over 5,000 posts a day on FerrariChat.com, there are over 8 million posts total, we have been around for 13 years, and we're 20x the size of the 2nd largest Ferrari community in the world. Not saying this flare up is pretty, but there is a reason the overall community is where it is. Sometimes you have to get mean with the micro issues before the toxin spreads.
Well this sure is an interesting thread. Not often you see the hackles raised within the normally placid Dino sub-forum faithful. I think I may have an unusual perspective here. I'm a Dino guy, a former moderator, pretty much understand both parties that are at issue here, have spoken with both on several occasions. Rob - we hear ya'. Shawn - we don't hear ya, but I think most would like to. Rob, we get it, and much as you know I respect this place and you, I'd suggest, politely, drop it. Not saying let it go, just let it go from here. Take Shawn out to the woodshed if you must, but don't whip him in front of the whole family, ok? Shawn. Come back, don't come back, it's up to you. No one here will think any less of you if you return, despite your rather public "adios" message posted earlier. Now, PLEASE, can we return to our regularly scheduled programs? You know, "can anyone find this obscure part," or, "can you believe how much our Dinos are worth?" and most importantly, where can I find a cheap Dino, I want back in to the club. D

Nope, no confusion here. I agree you have the responsibility to manage 'quality' and can't be the Nice Guy .... it's the way you do this is what I'm talking about. If you are a supervisor at a company and need to deal with an employee .... you do it, directly/quickly, but not in front of the whole team. You're above that.
