Any news on NBC Sports plan for F1 coverage?

on direct tv, channel 220, here are my preset recordings.....
-f1 practice
-f1 quali
-f1 race
-f1 prerace show, 1 hr
-f1 talk, post race show
-always record the programmed show following these shows incase any of them run long.
been cut off a few time.
really liking the nbc revamp of the f1 presentation, especially the 1 hr prerace show and the immediate post race f1 talk.

 

Agreed, the after show is soooo much better!! Its great to see the interviews with the other drivers!

Please tell me Bob V was just filling in this weekend! I can't take him anymore.

 

Discussed many times; He's covering when Leigh has a contractual commitment to cover Indycar. IIRC, about 5-6 times this season.

Agree on the post race show BTW - Not a bad job, but still a million miles from Sky.

Has anyones F1-36 disappeared from their recording list Friday?

I recorded it last week and now it's not showing up even on the guide for Friday.

 

Yep. I noticed it disappeared too. However, I did a search and found it is on at another time and I re-set the DVR. Not at home now, but I seem to recall that it is now listed to broadcast sometime on Monday.

I did a search on uverse but nothing came up. I also looked manually up till next Friday and nothing.

 

Anyone have any info on this? I can't locate any info on reairing or if the show will air as planned.

 

Really? You don't like Diffey (sp?) over Varsha?

When Varsha's voice came on last week, it was like waking up from a bad dream, only to realize it wasn't a dream at all.

Can't stand that oaf.

 

Heh, I already did my complaining about Varsha in a different thread (his explanation of the KERS graphic as well as giving back story on the WCC during the race made me want to bang my head into the wall), but Diffey's futile attempts at creating drama when there isn't any are just as bad.

"OH WOW SEBASTIAN VETTEL THE TRIPLE WORLD CHAMP HAS JUST REMOVED A TEAROFF, COULD THIS HAVE IMPLICATIONS FOR HIS RIVALS?!?!"

However, seems there's a "silent majority" here that disagrees...... Surprisingly to me (and you at least ), the poll is still showing ~67/33% in favor of Bob!

Though I said it a little differently back in post 53 Your rendition is much more Diffey-esque.

I hate the Diffey drama and like the surprise majority would greatly put Varsha >>>> Diffey.

 

What you don't see is that 40 of those votes come from accounts that Varsha created to skew the poll!

Actually, I think people tend to be resistant to change. I think a similar poll run 1 year from now would have results the other way, after people became used to Diffey.

I couldn't stand any of the 3 stooges, well Steve Matchett I could, but after watching BBC and Sky broadcasts, there's just no comparison.

Worse, they plan to air a sports talk show hosted by Regis Philben.

 

Again there was no race intro by Sam Posey.

I hope he is doing ok and his health is not the reason.

I totally loved the intros he did to all the races. Made a true connection of the individual event to the wider history of the sport and the culture of the hosting country.

Yes. Kinda. They spent a good portion of it on a US Navy ship.

 

I thought the same. Sam did a great job with those intros.
