Hey ! 100kg is not much. It only means that in an anniversary one has to dump his lady friend from the passager side that said the anniv in euro form look somewhat better than the us version.
What kind of lady friend do you have that weighs 100 kilos? You know what they say 'bout 100 kilo lady friends.... They are like mopeds, they are fun to ride until your best friend finds out. You heard the joke here first! lmao
you forgot the medium shaft... Tav 19 #30 2421348 Zahnrad 29 Tav 20 #6 2419496 Zahnrad 28 Tav 19 #30 2427488 Zahnrad 35 Tav 20 #6 2427487 Zahnrad 34 I went through this when I had to overhoul my QV's gearbox, so I know what I'm talking of (like in 99% of the cases). http://www.countach.ch/Gearbox.html
AMS reach 298 kmh @ 7400 rpm with the QV Auto reach 295.4 kmh @ 7450 rpm with the 25th If is this the difference, we are talking of 40,27 km/h every 1000 rpm for the QV vs 39,92 kmh for the 25th. It seems just slightly shorter. Within a 1% shorther. Honestly, if this is the real difference, it is a ineffective difference for acceleration consistence. Also tires wear make these differences. Probably you are talking about wider gearing differences.
it's 29/28 = 1,0357 35/34 = 1,0294 what this finally mean in real tests I can't estimate, the variance from car to car might have a huger impact.
Sure, this gearing difference is ineffective at the facts. It seems to be a factory reliability choice more than a performance choice. The F40's gearing case was completely different for example between non cats and car fitted with cats. That case was different the final while the medium was mantained the same. The final was shortened enough on cat cars to limit the catalyzation gap. Noticeable difference was visible also on Diablo GT with shorter gearing choice. All these are huge differences good for affect performance.
Did some rough calculations based on the rear wheels and tyres and the difference between new 7.5mm tread and worn tyres about 2mm tread would be about 2% being 823 compared to 839 revolutions of the tyre per mile. As many cars can easily vary up to 10% from each other then these differences are insignificant on the road in real life.
You must have heard about the French singer S. Gainsbourg classic "l'hippopodame". Hilariours lyrics, great composer. Anyway the 25th is is easier car to get even at low mileage. Someone posted a Japanese link and there are many 25th for sale there too a very low mileage. Some with 200 kms from new.
I agree with you. This was what I thought. This medium shaft sobstitution on the 25th seems to me a factory reliability upgrade because as you said minute circular differences from the gearbox to the tires are insignificant on the road in real life. If they thought for performance results they would have shortened more medium or final shaft as is normal.
Dear raymondQV I found a F40 Dynojet dyno that show you why your Countach should be largely in excess of 400 hp at the flywheel. http://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/off-topic/101024d1174670634-sweet-rasp-f40-dyno-f40-3.4l-tuned.jpg This US F40 shows 388 HP at the rear wheels, someting like 36 hp more than your QV. Then, we all know than F40 was claimed 478 hp but the history teaches that Ferrari underrated these engines. To me your engine seems to be in excess of 450 hp as well. And it seems to be conservative, because is thinkable that F40's transmission, gerabox and tires could produce less losses than the Countach ones.
But, how many rear bumpers were built for the US spec Countach?? I saw a lot of pics, that's incredible the variety of this security body part.
These are the types I've noted... in what I *think* is the chronological order of appearance on cars... The Blade The 2X4 The Zig Zag The Wedge The Blob The Toasters The Annie
Thanks, I also found these. Are like half toasters. http://www.sublevo.com/erik/gallery/albums/italian/countach_5000_rear.jpg http://www.extrememotorcar.com/albums/Countach/Countach_Rear_at_Show.thumb.jpg The wedge is really crazy!
I probably could only live with the blade. It is the only one that does not hide the lines of the rear of the car.
Hey, they don't melt in the rain!!!!! Northwest FIAT club had their All Italian Concours today. Roy and I held down the Lamborghini Contingent. One Gallardo and Murcielago also showed up, but didn't stay long. Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
I took mine off for the show 3 weeks ago and never put it back on. Debating whether to put it back on or not. Something tells me I should keep it back on for safety's sake
Excellent reference Apex! On that second shot I dont care what she looks like - youd NEVER be allowed on my wing; can you image that set up going wrong
You need to conveniently forget to put it back on Leo. That looks about as good as a raw 2X4 on a 32 roadster, simply wrong. Ill bet Balboni wouldnt have signed that . Can you say garage art?
1987 5000QV, same owner since 2000. Black on Black with Gold wheels. Under 11K miles. Books, tools and full service history included. Should arrive here at my store in about 12-15 days.... Will re-do the front bumper and think I will remove the rear wing...seems they just look better to me and show the lines in a better way with the wing delete...IMO Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks nice Roy. Is it any better than this one? Lamborghini : Countach in Lamborghini | eBay Motors I find 40k invested in repairs far fetched. Not busting your balls (again) just wondering, that's all. BRB going to get a nice Cappuccino that the wife is making for me.
I thought this same car was sold to a client of his weeks ago, announced as "a new bench mark has been set for selling price of a QV." Please correct me if I am wrong. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142217771-post1672.html So, if its on EBay again, the question is begged, was the sale reversed, and why?
