I have owned a Viper for 16 straight years, and my latest 09 Viper ACR was nothing short of amazing, as it relates to performance. I have been wanting a Scud for the last couple of years, but couldn't bring myself to trade the ACR. Well, that all changed last Friday night when I traded it for a Nero Daytona 08 Scud with 3,600 miles. On my way to St. Louis for the trade, I was actually feeling buyers remorse... I couldn't believe that I was parting with my beloved Viper. Then, I jumped in the Scud, and the remorse was gone. All it took was those exhaust flaps opening under acceleration, and OMG!!! And, I can't get over how much more comfortable the Scud is to drive, compared to the ACR. Buying my first Ferrari has been an incredible experience, and I'm enthralled with the Scuderia. It is the most intoxicating car that I've ever driven!

I joined this site a couple of years ago and have been watching, reading, and obtaining an education from all of you - great information from this group!

Yep two different cars.....nothing like the .60msec shifting in the Scud. Wish I had those yellow calipers on mine....

Like you I have had 5 Vipers. What's crazy is that I had the exact same color ACR except mine was a 10. My Dad has your Vipers twin still. Haven't had a Viper since 10. I still miss having a Viper in the collection. Might get the Gen V down the road. Miss the tire burning action of the Viper. Enjoy your new Ferrari! I think you will be super happy with your new Ferrari. But, you will miss your Viper. Wish I would've kept my 96 GTS.

I've already got plans to get another Viper within the next couple of years. Like you, I wish I would have kept my 96 GTS, so I'll probably get another one. My best friend has a 97 GTS, which will help me get a 'Viper Fix' from time to time.

Thank you all for the positive comments!

Edward, I also had a 96 GTS and enjoyed it it for about 5 years - what a great car! I still wish it was in my garage, but that desire is trumped by the fun that I'm having with my new toys. This Scuderia is the most fun that I have ever had behind the wheel!

Congrats on your new purchase! Ironically I was heading to EM earlier this week to see both Scuds they had and when I checked the site a few days before I was to head there, I noticed both cars were sold or pending sale.

Sure enough I notices you mentioned Midwest and saw the building in your pic and I was like 'Ah ha'! Nice to see a fellow Fchatter get one of these beauties!.

Enjoy your new ride and do tell (if you don't mind) how your experience was there. I trust all went well? That scud is sweet, drive her often!

I am shocked to hear the ACR is less comfortable then a Scud. I own a scud and I feel it drives really hard.

Congrats and welcome to the club!

I had a very good experience with EM. Great communication throughout the process and a fair trade made it even better. I received a call from the owner following my initial visit to their show room, and I told him that I wasn't ready to buy yet. He continued to talk with me and we had a great conversation. After a few days, I decided to make an offer. Shortly after that, we agreed on the trade difference. John (sales) stayed late one evening to accommodate my schedule for the trade, and I have received follow up communication after the sale to make sure I'm happy. I honestly don't know what they could have done better! I will do business with them again in the future.
