Jealous Britain: More Than Half Of Us Admit To Deliberately "Scratching" A... -- MANCHESTER, England, April 16, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ --

    ---

Absolutely ridiculous. I feel for you guys in the UK, I really do. Such a shame that these small minded people feel the need to key a car simply because they're jealous. Working hard should reward you and others shouldn't be jealous of this.

When I lived in the UK I drove a new 7 series (a 730Ld, so not range topping by any means). The amounts of times I was called a tosser for simply driving a fancy car (in their eyes) was insane.

Out of all the people I was in school with in the UK, less than a handful are actually doing something with their lives; the rest are spewing out kids and living of your state and will never amount to anything but be a parasite and endlessly hating the ''rich''. I can see Britain sinking very, very low in the next 20 years unfortunately.

Unfortunately my friend had his car keyed, all three panels, a few weeks ago. It went away and now is making a come back as everyone decides that to be successful is bad and not to be tolerated. Better to be mediocre. Tragic.

It is a shame the mentality of a lot of people in this country is to see someone who's done well and think "w****r". Funny but was thinking when watching the coverage of Boston last week how different Americans are from us, cheering the Police etc, rushing to blood banks as soon as they realised there might be a need, Chanting USA.
Unfortunately any form of patriotism in the UK has been hijacked by the bnp and the like. In Scotland its even worse, your not deemed patriotic unless you believe we should be a seperate country from the UK.

Perhaps, but it does still happen out of sheer jealousy by these people. The statistics might not be accurate...

Last year one of my friends was stopped at a zebra crossing and some chav looked at his Boxter and slammed with his fists on the bonnet, shouted wanker and walked off. My friend didn't do anything since he was on his own and this guy was with a bunch of friends.

We had a door kicked in the 7 series, but luckily no keying.

That "more than half" figure is completely ridiculous. I would suspect 0.1% is closer. But since the economic downturn the problem of jealousy is getting worse. The bankers have given wealthier people a bad name. Even if you have worked your way up to run a successful business which is nothing to do with finance, you are tarred with the same brush as the bankers by some people.
People from the US have said the problem is getting worse there as well, with the phrase "One of the 1%" seem to have become in general use as more of a derogatory term than praise.

I got my car keyed in France when i lived there and here in the US. None of the car were super impressive. Alfa Spider and Porsche 911. The 911 was keyed on my office parking lot in the middle of Chicago downtown ...

    *******s are everywhere.

And guns are not allowed in the UK. I do not tolerate destruction of personal property with my cars being first priority. What is this world coming to?

I have had cars damaged before by vandals, and regularly get the hand signals and the shouts when I'm driving. Always makes me laugh, who's the real a*****e, the guy driving a Ferrari or the muppet walking with the bad attitude!

Yesterday I was in a land rover dealers, thinking about changing the Sport for another, and the sales guy told me that last week a chap took a demonstrator to Bath (yep, historic, rich city) to convince his wife he wouldn't look like a pr**k driving it. Parked up, came back to the car a little while later, and someone had used a prawn mayo sandwich to dawb exactly that on his side window - pr**k. The dealer said he saw the funny side that it was exactly what he had said earlier in the day, but it does show there are a lot of cowardly morons here in the uk.

I'm pretty careful these days, I'm lucky enough to have a choice of where I go and where I drive, so I won't leave any of the cars where they may be in danger of jealous hands. I have turned up to places before, decided parking isn't safe, and either spent a long time finding better spots, or even just cancelled and driven straight home.... You have to measure the reward against the risk sometimes.

When I read British news papers online, the comments always get me, especially when it's to do with money (some B lister bought a Ferrari for instance) and it's always the same...whinging about how someone can afford a £250k car whilst they can barely afford xyz, there are starving children in Africa, yadda yadda yadda...It seems like they honestly believe that anyone with a little bit of money left over should just donate to them or charities, as if everyone just owes them everything.

    Sad state of affairs that.

I know, seems there is a communist undercurrent here. Stupid thing is, if you turned round and gave them a Ferrari, not one would turn it down!

It's outrageous isn't it. I now only take the car out on long trips where I know my exact destination or short drives returning home! No popping of to the seaside and parking on the sea front! Made that mistake before!

Maybe the muppets as you call them don't fear you. Muppets bang on your bonnet and you do nothing? In the States your average Ferrari (any hot car) may be driven by everyone from a whimpy lawyer to an armed gangster. Many non-criminals also drive around armed for fear of carjacks, road rage defense, and the like. A guy caught keying an owner's Ferrari here probably would just end up as another unsolved homicide or the loser would be too embarrassed to admit to his friends he got beaten to a bloody pulp by a paper pushing lawyer. I guess we are still the wild west in some ways. People laugh about American road rage where one wrong move could end up pistols drawn. But everyone is a lot more polite when there is a little bit of mutual respect and understanding.

I had a Dino which i spent 5 years restoring. Took it out one day and came up behind a car waiting to pull onto a roundabout. Couple in it were arguing and just sitting holding up the traffic. I gave a short beep on the horn and they drove off around the roundabout but as i followed going in the same direction the car came to a halt and the guy in the passenger seat jumped out and ran at my car which was right behind them, threw himself across the bonnet and got hold of my drivers side windscreen wiper blade and bent it back and forth till it snapped and then threw it in the gutter!
I had my then 11 year old daughter in the car whom was screaming, i was so shocked i couldnt believe what was happening
The woman driving the car drove off and the guy ran off in another direction.
Cutting a long story short i called the wife to come and pick up my daughter and bring my 6 foot Rugby prop playing son with her.
Any way we chased this guy around the town (literally 2 mins from my then home)
and finally caught up with him............I then lost it and punched the bloke so hard he fell to the ground, i then started kicking him and couldnt stop myself until my son stopped me.
Meanwhile someone had called the police and when they arrived they took him to the hospital!!
He couldnt be interviewed for 24 hours and when he was he admitted the damage. I knew the police were half wondering whether to charge me with GBH but i think they thought that the bloke obviously deserved it and kept quiet....he did not press charges either.
Later in court he got fined £150 in my favour........it cost me £750.00 for the damage to be repaired as he had scratched the paint on the front scuttle.
So i lost out big time........but i bet the bast**d will never willfully damage another persons car again in a hurry!
I then lost all faith in humanity and decided that there was no point owning a car like that,so i sold it.
Sad but yes this country is full of jealous tos**rs.

Had a head case bodybuilder have a rant at me while just in my TT a few months back, scared my 12 year old kid....but I know where he lives and will f**k him up big time, over a long period... alot. :D

Shame everyone seems so agressive these days. :(
