That picture was taken (not by me) at Bruno Paratelli's workshop. Apparently it was all he had left and he can't find any more..... Probably the only option is to get some made...

 

I had the privilege of riding in the Countach that had the first prototype fuel injection system put in it. The owner tracked down the original carburetors to this very car (not another one like it) and put the carburetors back in the engine.

We hooked up a mic right next to the exhaust, so the sound from the outside is fantastic!

I have more footage of this car on the freeway from onboard a 512TR, so stay tuned!

that is cool. you may want to post some info on the 2 Valves injected thread we have here below and add some history on that car. I did not put any.

Just a dumb question, if this is the mighty FI prototype, why putting the carbs back on the car?
I mean, it's uniqueless was based on the FI (Owner wanted $350k!), now with the FI removed it's an ordinary LP5000S ($120K).

 

Now all they have to do is remove the bumpers.

How many 5000s did they make in silver?

I'm contemplating another CT purchase.

 

Turns out the fuel injection part carried the same claim to fame as the guy who got the first catalytic convertor from GM on an Oldsmobile. Just kidding of course . If the truth was told, it was probably because he could not find the resale $$$$ as a fi. Now he has a carbed, special color 5000s, with a little more bragging rights. I absolutely love looking at it. He did what I would have, regardless of the financial gain/loss.

 

He just wanted the originality of the car, since the carbs were there originally. He also liked the way the car ran better with the carbs.

Sounds really great!!!! IMO, A 4 pipe exaust system would put the iceing on the cake

 

I was reading this months Octane magazine about the 250GTO v FI. One contributor commented about people being reluctant to sell in case they could never buy another. I realise the CT is significantly more common than either. However 2000 cars isnt a lot to begin with!

I appreciate we probably have a fair few owners on here but clearly not all.

Joe/Roy/Raymond/Paul/Anyone else! Has anyone got a realistic accurate view or record as to how many are actually still about? 90% ??

As values are no where near the stratospheric prices of the GTO or F1, we should be able to buy one again, but I suspect like the contributors say on those cars, you have one as you want to own one!

IMO, the Countach car is just waiting like a Lion to pounce UP in value.

Most all variants have been well under valued in comparission to other super cars of the decade. I have noticed that you can longer buy a decent Countach, as you could just as little ago as 12 months back for anywhere under the $120K mark..and IMO that is at the bottom of the market.

I dont think it will be a shock to see pre-anniverrsary cars hitting 150K and above within the next 12 months as a common pricing ground..and then continue to rise from there.

Look at his description. GEEZ!

I'm not hating here but man this is on par with the last one he sold, and look at what happened there.

I'll be willing to bet $100 that my amateur historian friend can find at least 100 things wrong with that car.

Feel free to pick apart that car so Gerald can learn the ins and outs of Countach.

By the way that car has the same exact side marker lights as the last 84 white Countach to come out of FL. Was this the signature of the particular importer? Both also have those crappy side skirts.

Whomever buys that car be prepared to spend at least 100k to get it sorted out.

The idea is to gather the 2 Valves injected information there. I know there a a lot of stories about that grey prototype but I'd rather see the people directly involved doing it than me rehashing their own stories.

Note: I'd like to keep it technical and historical and avoid getting into contemporaries value issues and the like. i am a bit sick about the car bashing of late.

 

So where can I find a good QV no wing not red.

The 81-82 cars have room to increase in price.

Low production #'s and the last of the raw Lamborghinis.

Most likely, these cars will take longer to find.







If someone wants to spend less, the next best buy are the 83-84 cars.
