I own a 2010 California with 9,600 miles and I was on the ropes between a new California 30 and a 2010 458, after driving yesterday a 2013 California with sport handling package and really enjoyed the car so I've decided to order the 2014 model (the sales rep wasn't very aware of any changes between the 13 and 14 models, but from the configurator we established that it will have new tail lights in clear).

My current California is Rosso Scuderia over Beige with Daytona seats and red stitching.

My few dilemmas are whether to keep the 'Ferrari' theme of Rosso Corsa over Beige - I test drove a Nero Pastello over Nero with red leather inserts and red stitching, or to go with a new color combination. I live in Chicago so we don't have that many Ferraris on the roads.

After configuring the car we came to a sticker of $246,230 (MSRP is up $5,000).

The carbon centeral bridge and carbon driving zone with LEDs are quite expensive options, what is the general consensus on the carbon fiber? (In my current California I don't have any carbon fiber).

My configuration looks like the following:

    Rosa Corsa
    20" sport forged diamond rims
Brake calipers in Rossa Corsa (thinking about changing to Giallo Modena)
    'Scuderia Ferrari' shields
    Front and rear parking sensors
    Int/Ext electr. Mirror+Homelink
    AFS system
    Special handling package
    Exterior sport grille
    Interior Beige
    Special stitching in Red
    Daytona style seat
    Rosso seat belts
    Rosso piping
    Nero carpets
    Central tunnel in leather
    Giallo rev counter
    Cruise control
    Carbon fiber central bridge
Caron fiber driver zone + LEDs (considering opting for just the carbon fiber steering wheel + LEDs)
    Aluminum driver and passenger footrest
Horse stitched on headrest in Flio speciale Rosso

    On the borderline currently with:
** Full electrical seat (currently have on my 2010)
** Daytona seat leather stripes in Rossa

Also, has anyone recently sold or traded in a 2010 California, I am trying to get an idea for the value of my current car and whether I should traded it in or sell it and for how much? (It is nicely equipped with approx $228,000 sticker)

    Thanks for your feedback

I was driving the 2013 with the Handling Package in Sport mode mostly and I did find it to be a bit stiffer that my 2010, I do not have Magnaride on mine. The handling through turns and steering seemed a bit more sharper, though I didnt go over 70mph.

Overall really liked some of the tech upgrades as well on the TFT screen and the navigation screen.

regarding the carbon fiber . I traded my 2011 on a new 2013 and added the carbon fiber central bridge and steering wheel along with front spoiler and rear panel . I also got the sports package .. I like the extra carbon fiber bridge It looks great with the nero carpets mine is also rosso corsa only with coiuo interior.

Any chances you can share some pictures?

The Cuoio was my next choice i just wasn't sure how it will look.

What seats did you get? I hear the Regular and Diamond stitch are move comfortable than the Daytona.

OP: your spec will result in a well-appointed car. I like the full electric seats for the memory function plus the seat heaters. My diamond stitched seats are very comfortable. It's a personal preference, so you should get what you like, but I personally would find Daytona seats with red stripes and red stitching and red piping and red seat belts a little too busy. If you go with the stripes I'd skip the piping. I like CF, but as you noted it's very expensive, so I skipped it entirely, except for the rear trunk panel, which I think makes the back look much "richer" than the stock plain black panel. But that was very expensive! If you get CF don't forget to consider CF LED wheel. Finally, you didn't mention the color of the A pillars, windshield surround or dash - you may want to match the colors.

Interesting that the 2014 tail lights will be clear. Congrats on your order and please post pics when the car arrives. It must be nice to drive along Lake Shore Drive on a sunny spring day!

I think you are going to be burning cash. The all new model comes out in 2014 so why not hang on to your existing car and swap for a 458 spider?

If you go with CF for the bridge & wheel then you probably ought to go with CF for the dash trim. Looks like your build is getting expensive....

As my last post did not really answer the question, here is my opinion. Forget the bridge, it matches up well and at the same level as the door handles. Have the wheel, drivers zone and dash, the uplift in terms of quality feel is amazing. I had a Cali specced in this manner and was doubtful about the additional cost when ordering but was very glad I did as there really is a big difference in quality feel, especially the screen surround.

I thought the 2014's were going to have more of a redesign & possible engine change...
I guess I have the year wrong?

No you don't, hence my earlier post, although it will probably be. 2015 model year. I think the existing Cali's last year will be the 2014 model.

There is a currently a wait of the 458 spider in the states. The dealer currently is not taking any orders as they cannot guarantee the car. The 458 is also about 50% more expensive :)

The dealer hinted that next year's California will be the last production run for the car, after that they will not be taking order for the california after the mid year cycle.

I am also on the fence with the carbon fiber bridge but seems like most of the new orders in the dealership had the options - i agree it seems to be more engaging with a more aggressive interior of red or black.

You must get a bum deal over there. In the UK it is maybe $60k more but at least you might not lose it as you drive off the forecourt!
