Looks like a very pretty car although the interior isn't to my personal taste.

Very similar to my 78A although at 41972 miles approx. this car has covered around 5000 miles more than mine so I was wondering why the shocks and motor mounts would need changing. Are these common faults or could this be signs of a either hard life or no life before a refurb ?

Does look nice though but $36,900 equates to around £24,600 which seems high based on cars for sale over the past few years.

Higher asking prices seem to be a regular occurrence at the moment - the question begs to be asked whether any of these cars actually sell for (or close to) the asking price.

I'm fairly sure that most of us lunatics who run these cars are in it for emotional reasons, not profit (unless you're a very long term investor) so IF they're finally going up in value it just validates our obviously superb taste in cars. But it's also nice to know that we have an asset which may appreciate at something more than a snails pace.

    Any thoughts ?

    Good day Russell,

A similar car (Chassis 20301) appears to have been sold last Summer/Fall:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/365-gt4-2-2-400-412/365880-1977-400-gt-auto-chassis-20301-cl.html

    Mohr Imports, Inc.

I think the last asking price was $27900 USD... so I would guess that the car, if it is indeed sold, would be in this price range. Again, this is all speculation on my part.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Love the interior. Would like to have it in my 400, or else red with black inserts.

I was able to stop by to see this car today, it looked good, better then the photos. I am going to visit again later in the coming week when it is not raining.

    - I'm interested in a 5 spd if anyone near DC is willing to share with me or simply meet at a C&C, etc. Annapolis is close enough too..

Can someone help clarify or offer any tips?

I sat in this '79 with a wide center wood console, and my leg only fits if pressed between console and steering wheel, not tight, actually pressed in. (I'm not *that* tall, 6'1")

Is the reconfigured console in the mid-80's models (5 speed to be specific) any narrower? I am praying it is, otherwise I am either unable to buy, or need to adjust seat tracks.. idk, please advise!

I see that the '79 has four console-mounted gauges. My '83 has three. That's a difference of two to three inches. It would be nice if all the extra room were allocated to the driver, but I don't know if it was.

    Here's a pic of my '83: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/attachments/365-gt4-2-2-400-412/1700052d1367204515-heater-controls-img_4860.jpg

Bill, thanks for the pic. It does look like there is more room, apparently pretty clear from the photo. Big sigh of relief here.

Just saw this car is once again for sale, now by Classic Motors of Washington, D.C. for $31.9k (no affiliation). The ad incorrectly says its a 400i. The ad also says they bought it from Dick Fritz.
